"Today, America's interests are Israel and oil." (Bernard Lewis, speaking to Daniel Pipes's Middle East Forum, in 1999)
http://www.meforum.org/article/195

And presumably he would place the interests in that order.

The one encouraging sign out of modern academia (and there's not much) is that Lewis, while respected for his early scholarship, is widely seen as having become essentially a shill for his "particularist" ideology. His recent books have been savaged in academic journals.

All the evidence is right here at phillipweiss.org You're a spokesperson for jihad, almost as eloquent as the imams calling for the murder of "apes and pigs".

Look at your NY Mag article. If you had any insight, you'd see that the jihadi alliance is there. Look at left wing support for CAIR a group that tries to get Sharia instituted in Minnesota (no cab for you if you're carrying alcohol or have a guide dog).

Despite what you think, they'll still kill you if they succeed, just for being a Weiss. Much like they're heroes of 60 years ago. But then you support the VietCong and the Khmer Rouge.
