Never having lived there or been outside of Manhattan before leaving Washington, she had to take a 'listening tour' upstate to ascertain the existence of remote frontier outposts such as Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo.</p> <p>In 2006, she coyly avoided commenting on her presidential ambitions, although we now know that was obviously the plan, and probably had been since 1999.</p> <p>What a triumph of carpetbaggery, to move to New York and get elected its Senator the same year!</p> <p>What amazes me is how few New Yorkers resent the Empire State being used as the Doormat State; a brief but necessary stepping stone in Hillary's charmed career.
