.

"I love America; our culture is a liberal one."

It's a SELECTIVELY liberal one. No culture involved in wars of aggression, concentration camps and torture is liberal in any meaningful sense. Germany and Austria were great centers of liberal culture in the 19th and early 20th century, before they turned putrid with military aggression, as the U.S. has done after them.

Even as to mental illness, we're liberal in accepting Big Pharma solutions which induce zombie-like emotional anethesia. But this culture is deathly, deathly afraid of mind-expanding drugs such as LSD and ibogaine, which have shown so much potential in treating alcoholism and comforting the terminally ill.

Why is that? When Americans take a substance-enhanced look inside themselves, they see ... a black emptiness. They've got no soul. They scream in horror, "Kill the messenger!" Thus, the world's highest imprisonment rate.

Sometimes I get little intimations of past lives. Maybe this was one of them. From a Wikipedia article about Little Dixie, Missouri:

"By the outbreak of the Civil War, counties such as Saline and Lafayette had slave populations between 30 and 40 percent and the major cash crop was hemp. In Lafayette County, locals went so far as to declare hemp as king and dedicating all production to it while forgoing necessary food production."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Dixie_(Missouri)

LOL! Or as we used to say in high school ... "Dope will get you through times of no money, better than money will get you through times of no dope."
