Something I liked about William Kristol's column about Passover is that it had an openly Zionist message. One thing I've attacked the neocons for is their lack of transparency about their driving interest in Israel. The more power they've gotten, the less straightforward they've been. Though now they're losing power, maybe they're being more direct. That way Americans get to know their agenda.
Leon Hadar writes @TAC
what Kristol and other leading neoconservatives have been promoting hasn’t been Zionism (whatever that means) but their own very unique Zionist agenda in which Israel assumes the role of a crusader Jewish state in the Middle East that will never make peace with its neighbors and whose survival will always been dependent on the patronage of an American hegemon that maintains its dominant position in the Middle East.
Beautifully put. Americans, are you down with that? I don't think so. If this is McCain's agenda, he's going to get smeare creamed in the fall...

Why would McCain lose to candidates that basically have the same stance on Israel that he has? What have Democrats done with their majority in regards to stopping the war? Which candidate is an honest and harsh critic of Israel? Who is honest about Israel's founding, and states that the nations' interests should be separated?
In the general election, Obama will be viewed by many as the racial extremist that he seems to be, and both he and Hillary will be tagged as big government experimenters who loathe the majority. Unfortunately, neither party offers a damn thing. But McCain should win.
I doubt that the election will come down to who supports Israel/Zionism, anyway. I really doubt that Israel or Zionism will be mentioned much directly.
That Hadar article is a typical piece of mealie-mouthed 'libertarian' bullshit. If you want to keep track via people who are still awake, try Glenn Greenwald at Salon, who is an actual journalist, not a gossip columnist PRETENDING to be a journalist, like you, phil
