You haven't proven to me that in their roles (not exagerations of their roles) the individuals acted in a way that gave Israel's interests preeiminance over a plausible conception of America's, (that being the central thesis of the neo-con argument to turn the mideast into an open commercial zone).

And how is that goal different than the old-con?

You and others have repeated name-calling, inference, and suspicion. Is that "proof"?

Is it a description of "cause" or "will" or speculation? Is it cause or correlation?

And how do you distinguish the specific criticisms of specific individuals, even specific strategies, even specific ideologies, with the idiotic generalization that is engaged in here routinely of accusations "dual loyalty" applied to any that have sympathy with Israel?

And, how do you distinguish what IS the US interest?

Why is your bar so low on this Phil?

Witty, you have made it clear that you are a die-hard Israel-Firster. Please make you journey to heaven (Israel). The rest of us will be better off, by far. Correlation, cause/effect.... You wish a pure scenario of such--except when it comes to Israel's regime's policy implementations and your suppport of same. Everything you've said applies to you and your expressed thoughts. The slowly aggretating facts are all against you. Has your son enlisted in the IDF yet? Why don't you? Quit sucking on the American tit.

One of the original motives that drove the neo-conservatives was opposition to the new left and the counter culture. That hatred was shared by old cons and new cons. (Pat Buchanon for example HATED the counter-culture, same as Norman Podhoretz.)

The time that Phil and I hung out together, we were definitively exploring counter-culture themes.

The counter-culture included two distinct groups, that the anti-counter-culture didn't bother to distinguish.

They were the politicos - the new left largely, anti Vietnam War, extending into new Marxist formulations and its odd exagerations.

Then there were the culturalists. Hippies, drugs, sex, rock-n-roll, communal living, spirituality.

Overlap with the politicos (anti war, explorations of new economic relationships), but also overlap with the conventional (spirituality, ethics).

The neo-conservative movement. Its only a VERY recent popular fixation to regard the movement as a whole with Israel. Certainly there were prominent Jewish participants, converts to conservatism from pugnacious radicals to pugnacious conservatives.

And, they even discussed and published among themselves about ranges of issues that concerned them, and some even became in-laws (as old communists were a largely in-bred community over generations).

To exagerate that selection from multiple concerns into conspiracy of cabal, is an error.

It stifles thought to do so, in the name of opposing censorship (a hoot).

Its helpful in the world that new combinations of concerns get articulated. Thats how the world changes. That the neo-conservatives were one experiment of that is a good.

The conclusions that they came to as far as Iraq was concerned were not good. Good that they talked and explored. Avoidable errors in their math.

Errors that are content of arguments, that can and could have been analyzed and rejected, if people bothered with the content, rather than the horse race, the image, and conforming to those around them.

.

In-your-face treason. From Huffington Post:

------------

House Resolution 362, sponsored by Rep. Gary Ackerman, a New York [Jewish] Democrat, is moving quickly through the House. The resolution urges the Bush administration to prohibit the export to Iran of refined petroleum products, impose "stringent inspection requirements on all persons, vehicles, ships, planes, trains, and cargo entering or departing Iran," and to prohibit all Iranian officials not involved in negotiating the suspension of Iran's nuclear program from travel outside the country.

Imposing "stringent inspection requirements" would amount to a naval blockade, many believe, and thus constitute an act of war.

Why are 96 House Democrats (along with 111 House Republicans) co-sponsoring this resolution? Aren't these the Democrats who rode into majorities in both houses on public revulsion against war in the Middle East?

According to a recent story on CBS News, the answer seems to be a "full-court press" by the government of Israel and the American-Israeli lobby AIPAC. CBS ran the story Tuesday as Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen was on his way to the Middle East to confer with Israeli government officials.

http://tinyurl.com/6qlm2f

------------

Oh, this is rich. Play it again, Sam:

"The resolution urges the Bush administration to prohibit the export to Iran of refined petroleum products."

ah ha ha ha
AH HA HA HA

The United 'Achilles Heel' States, which imports nigh on 70% of its energy, is going to implement a reverse embargo on Iran. No more Exxon/Mobil hi-test for you, ya turban-headed, ayatollah-worshipping freaks! No more 'tiger in your tank' to truck your satanic nuclear fuel out of Natanz, ye Persian perverts!

AH HA HA HA

[makes rude masturbatory gestures]

Ackerman ... you're one great Israeli, dude.
