Saban is a creation of Labor (i.e., fascist) Zionism while Bronfman, Adelson, and the Neocon backers belong to the ethnic fundamentalist Jabotinskian current of Zionist thought.

Peretz and Dershowitz also belong to the Labor/Fascist Zionist faction.

There is no obvious evidence that the Saban, Peretz, and Dershowitz types represent less of a danger to the USA than the Adelson, Bronfman, Kraft, Shusterman, Klein, Zuckerman types.

If I were to push the analogy with the pre-Civil War USA, the Jabotinskians support slavery while the Labor/Fascist Zionists are comparable to free soilers. They might possibly remove the settlements from all the 1967 Occupied Territories and create an emasculated Palestinian state therein but the structure of Zionist racism and brutality would remain intact within the pre-1967 territories.

Would a free soiler compromise really solve the Zionist problem? It would not have solved the Slavery problem for it would have left slavery intact in the core Southern states.

If in 1940 the German Nazis installed pro-German governments in all the territories from which the German Nazis withdrew, and negotiated peace treaties with all the new governments, and withdrew from occupied France, Belgium and the Netherlands and from German Occupied Poland (after border adjustments that removed the Danzig corridor), would such a development really have solved the problem of a murderous ethnic fundamentalist state in the center of Europe?

As I pointed out in Participating in an Obsolete Discourse,
no Iranian political entity, whatever its ideological or religious orientation, is likely to accept permanently a status quo in which any Levantine entity has hegemony over a region that Iranian states have historically considered their natural geopolitical sphere of influence.

Would the Labor/Fascist Zionists agree to a denuclearized Israel to persuade the Iranians to give up nuclear weapons?

Even getting an agreement that the ME should be free of atomic weapons might be insufficient because Iran has to contend with proximaty of nucler Pakistan, Russia and India as well as nearby bases of the USA, which has proven over the last 8 years not to be a status quo power.

Until the USA reestablishes its credentials as a status quo power, neither Russian Federation nor China have any interest in exerting pressure for the Iranians to give up nuclear weapons development.

Will a Labor/Fascist Zionist solution induce American Zionists to renounce conspiracy against the rights of Arab and Muslim Americans? I suspect the scare mongering might increase especially because the Labor/Fascist American Zionist political economic oligarchs might not have as much influence over Israel as the Jabotinskian oligarchs (and some of the Fascist oligarchs are likely to defect) will back their own surrogates in Israel.

Will a Labor/Fascist Zionist solution solve the American economic crisis that has been created by the American Zionist oligarchs in concert with Jabontinskian and Friedmanite intelligentsias?

Even if no one wants to say it, any competent economist can grind through the numbers. Getting out of the current mess requires liquidating about $2 trillion of the US economy and selling it to Gulf Arabs and the Chinese.

I know that sounds horrible to many ordinary Americans, but for the vast majority of US citizens it simply does not make much difference whether they work for a company owned by Zionist oligarchs, the Dutch, the Belgians, Gulf Arabs, or the Chinese.

I doubt that the Zionist Jewish oligarchs are going to liquidate themselves and give the proceeds to the US government to cover all the bad paper that the US government is covering and will cover.

You've got to be kidding me, Phil. I really like your site, but your optimism has turned into delusion. There is no grand plan at work here by Obama to stick it to the neocons. The very fact that he has Dennis Ross at his side should tell you all you need to know. We're getting Clinton Part II next January. He'll say nicer things about the Palestinians than Bush and he'll pose for more pictures, but he'll demand no more of Israel -- and of the American public -- than Clinton. And that's not nearly enough, not by a million miles. The occupation will continue.

I just read this post for a second time, and it's even more bizarre the second time through. He's got Dennis Ross on his side and this is a good thing? Buddy, when are you going to realize: Obama wants to be President to be President. He's already decided that the price he'll pay is obeisance to the Israel-firsters. He has 10,000,000 things he wants to do. Palestine is way, way down the list....so far down that he's willing to sell the Palestinians out and adopt the Israel-first line -- since it will make it easier for him to pursue everything else he wants to do.

And your embrace of the "two-state" solution is dated. Go read Edward Said. The ship on that sailed years ago. With Israel hording all of the water and the most fertile land and refusing to give it up, what exactly is the point of "two states?" The only Palestinian state that can be created through negotiations will include only some of the West Bank, limited water, nothing in the Jordan River valley, no borders with any nation except Israel, checkpoints all over the place and Israelis-only roads. I'm with Said: 2 states will never work because there never really will be a second state. The only solution is the 1-state solution.

Sorry to keep posting, but...Christ, Phil, would you please stop with the whole "Obama wants Jewish money" horseshit?! If there's one thing this guy is immune from, it's the need for high-dollar donors. He's going to have $300 million this fall whether the AIPIAC-types chip in or not. This is NOT about money. (Keep in mind: I'm not pretending that Jewish money is not a consideration for other politicians who take a hardline Israel-first stand.) This goes much, much deeper, and it tells us something about how Obama will govern: He is petrified at the prospect of offending the organized Jewish community's sensibilities, because he knows how devastating the ensuing media firestorm would be. Plus, I think we have to consider more and more the very real possibility that he believes a lot more of the Israel-first bullshit he's been spouting than we originally thought.

And explain to me again: How the hell does the two-state solution work anymore, with all of the colonies in the West Bank, the wall, the stolen and redirected water, the Israelis-only roads, the checkpoints, the choking off of one town from another? Are you telling me Obama will get all of this taken down in some deal? You're effin' delusional, my friend. It's too late for the 2-state solution.

And I don't think he's petrified at all.

He knows the political world. It is his chosen career, as journalism is Phil's chosen career (for the compromises and limitations that that entails).

And, he has been consistent on his positions on Israel for a very long time. And that is support for Israel as the only functioning democracy in the Middle East, but not to the point of unconditional support of all Israeli behavior.

He trusts that the Palestinian and all middle eastern people want stability more than they want Israel to disappear, and more than they are angry, and will work to form a path to that.

And, he has no illusions that there are significant powers that be that thrive on environments of internal strife, and will do whatever they can to retain that status, powers with ambitions in their chosen respective ponds.

Iran, Wahabi, Hamas, some expansionist Zionists.

Realism.

No puppeteering. No fraud. Definitely choosing what to say, and when.

I agree that Obama emulates some high bar models of political integrity.

Phil,

> "The Jews for Obama emails I get are sickening."

Could you elaborate this comment? I am not sure the Jews4Obama mail we are sending is the stuff you are receiving.

Sickeningly sweet? Sickeningly centrist?
Sickeningly ignorant of Obama' misstatements like "undivided jerusalem" to focus on positive elements to get him elected in the jewish community?

One of the goals of J4O is to prevent the schvitz-boating (which destroyed the reputation of Jimmy Carter before he visited Brandeis), to work its slimy magic on Barack Obama.

Advice on how you would so do differently appreciated.

Presstv is reporting:
Obama moving closer to McCain on Iraq?
"When asked about how many troops would still need to be left behind, he said, "I do think that's entirely conditions-based. It's hard to anticipate where we may be six months from now, or a year from now, or a year and a half from now."

Joachim Martillo, what you say smacks true, given your tie-in of USA foreign policy in the Middle East and the USA economy, do you see any difference in the USA's future whether Obama or McCain is president?

I guess not since you've concluded that for the vast majority of US citizens it simply does not make much difference whether they work for a company owned by Zionist oligarchs, the Dutch, the Belgians, Gulf Arabs, or the Chinese.

And you go on to say you doubt that the Zionist Jewish oligarchs are going to liquidate themselves and give the proceeds to the US government to cover all the bad paper that the US government is covering and will cover.

Are you presenting a scenario where the USA will fall as the USSR did, only reversing the opportunity point as between the aforementioned oligarchs who emerged from the old USSR and those working from within and outside the current USA?

Is this the road to serfdom, writ large, possibly even larger than Ron Paul has invisioned?
