Israeli City Underwrites Program to Stop Israeli Girls From Dating Israeli Arabs

by Philip Weiss on August 5, 2008 · 16 comments

Here's why I say that Zionism's a deadend ideology. Haaretz reports that the schools in the city of Kiryat Gat, in southern Israel, are using a video called "Sleeping with the Enemy" in a program approved by the local government aimed at stopping Israeli girls from going out with Israeli Arabs. Has the support of the local police and the "anti-assimilation department" of a religious organization. Arabs are "exploitive," the propaganda warns. Anyone who says that this is racist doesn't know what they're talking about, says one of the program's promoters. Israeli Arabs serve in the armed forces, by the way. And Zionists chose to build their state in the Arab world, 500 miles east of Istanbul. I guess stuff like this happened in the segregated south. And just think how widespread policies like this will be as the "demographic" issues become more severe, threatening the Jewish majority. Will the American papers pick this up? I doubt it. Do American Jewish organizations care? Nope.

By the way, I just noticed the program is sexist too. What about the Jewish boys? Arab girls are hot.

What are you talking about. Arab broads, ( and yes there are exceptions ) are generally butt ugly. That's got to be part of the reason for the hijabs and the burkas. I don't see how they manage to shit out so many kids.

Besides Arab girls run the risk of being knocked off by their fathers and brothers for something like that. Honor killings are an accepted part of the"religion of peace"

Socially,
Israeli girls out in the world, able to make contact.

Arab girls are not.

I would doubt VERY VERY highly, if there were not similar statements made to Arab girls, and in the media.

In Gaza, do you honestly think that Hamas encourages inter-marriage?

I know that NPR, NPTV, or any of the MSM will not carry this story amid all of the other Israel or Jewish-centered pieces, and civil rights, slavery, racism and immigration reports.

My guess is that the typical Jewish "progressive" who is so proud of his record on U.S. social issues will let this slide, if he isn't in total agreement.

From my experience in Israel, the kibbutz members did not want their younger members around the "volunteers," at least that was what some of the girls/young women told me. I don't thik that mixing is encouraged in Israel for the most part.

On the flip side, the young males seemed to do what they pleased. Several of the Israeli guys that I knew told me that it is some sort of informal right of passage for men to have relations with a blonde, gentile- preferably a European.

Young Israeli women were pretty free also, but they had to be discreet. It wasn't uncommon to see a young Israeli women from other towns and kibbutzim with foreign men, and they seemed to go way out of their way to be with them.

I do have personal experience with an Israeli man that I worked with, who would never acknowledge me if his daughter were with him. Israel is a strange place.

From the video: "The program uses a video entitled "Sleeping with the Enemy," which features a local police officer and a woman from the Anti-Assimilation Department, a wing of the religious organization Yad L'ahim, which works to prevent Jewish girls from dating Muslim men."

Which American value does an Anti-Assimilation Department fall under?

From Gary Rosenblatt: Noah Feldman and the Confrontation of American with Jewish or Zionist Values:

Gary Rosenblatt of The New York Jewish Week starkly frames the issue of Harvard Professor Noah Feldman's erasure from the ranks of graduates of Brookline's Maimonides School.

What Feldman's essay points up is that intermarriage is the irreconcilable issue for those who argue that American and Jewish values are compatible. "We've sold a lot of Jews a bill of goods when we've told them there are no contradictions between being a good Jew and an American," noted Jonathan Sarna, a professor of American Jewish history at Brandeis University. "In America you are taught you can marry anyone you fall in love with, but Judaism argues that we are a minority culture and will only survive if Jews marry other Jews."

RE: "Israeli Arabs serve in the armed forces, by the way."–Phil

Most Israeli Arabs do not serve in the IDF; correspondingly, according to Israeli rights rules, they don't get the multiplicity of benefits afforded Jewish Israelis.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_Defense_Forces#Minorities_in_the_IDF

"Except for a relatively small Druze population, Arabs are excluded from military service mandatory for all but ultra-Orthodox Jews, an essential shared experience of Israeli life and a traditional training ground for future political leaders."

(snip)

"It is not merely unusual to find Arabs in the IDF — it is amazingly rare. Other than some Druze soldiers, who in Israel generally do not consider themselves Arabs, and a few Bedouins, who worked as spies, I did not encounter a single Arab in IDF uniform. And I spent a lot of time with Israeli soldiers. As a class, Arab citizens of Israel are excluded from the military."

It would have been better if Wilson had qualified "excluded" and mentioned the Bedouins. A small number of Arabs do serve in the IDF, but it's obvious that Israel does not want them serving in large numbers or they would be drafted.

It's that persistent "Jewish State" demographic issue, no?

Perhaps something to do with standard Judiac female lineage as trump? Plus, simple sexism?

RE: "Which American value does an Anti-Assimilation Department fall under?"–rudy t

What a great question. Of course in the USA it would be considered racist and discriminatory to the max. Why do we give over 35% of our total foreign aid tax dollars (aid to Egypt is only so it won't argue/fight with Israel) to further this? The way of S Africa is the way of the future.

So, for the greater good of all humanity, shall we have the individual as core value, or group Identity?

The modern Germany, or the old Germany?

Keating, Keating, Keating. The GErmans are the Germans. But I'm sure you know that right. IHR, stormfront, Ein Reich, Ein Volk, Ein Fuhrer. Still like to know where your wife fits into this one.
