Jacob Weisberg has a smart and emphatic piece on Slate about how it really is racism that's hurting Obama…
To the rest of the world, a rejection of the promise he represents
wouldn't just be an odd choice by the United States. It would be taken
for what it would be: sign and symptom of a nation's historical decline.

The left's attempt to demonize all opposition to the Obamesssiah as motivated
by racism is beneath contempt. No-one who
has read the work by Steve Diamond or Stanley Kurtz on Obama's Chicago years can
seriously maintain that an aversion to
Obama's ideas, tactics, and political friendships has anything to do with the color of his skin.
Racism?
most Republicans that I know could not wait to vote for Colin Powell in 1996.
I notice that Weisberg believes that European American should gladly accept becoming a minority in a country that they created…..I wonder if he believes that Jews should accept minority status in Israel?
Well I was a white Obama supporter.
But the Biden selection has me rethinking. I don't him or his policies.
So do I vote for Ob-Bi and against McCain hoping to 'limit' the damage Washington usually does to Americans?
Or do I, for once, just represent myself and not vote or do a write in?
Maybe it is time for more of us to bow out of the lesser of two evils game and let the chips fall where they may.
That might speed up the fall ..and rebirth.
why is it illegitimate for PJB to talk aboutthe interests of European -Americans?
Obama favors affirmative action on the basis of race. Who pays for that? whites….just as whites must pay for Israel, the enmity of the Islamic world, the population transfer of some of the porest people in Latin America to the U.S…..I am sure that Phil stays well west of HWY 405 when he is out in LA but it's reaasonablel to wonder abou the destruction of your culture by such an invasion.
Perhaps the best way to understand Weisberg and Phil is simple. To them America is just an experiment. If it fails they can just move on. (Indded a failing America will be even easier for Zionists to dominate)
But for Europeapn Americans thi sis home. And they love it
Did we read the same article?
Weisberg's article is a rehash of the same kosher spin white folk have been enduring at least since Trotsky invented the term and concept of "racism". This tactic was refined by the decidedly non-Episcopalian Frankfurt School, with the decidedly non-Episcopalian Theodor Adorno spraypainting swastikas all over traditional US white culture with his Authoritarian Personality scam, and has since been turned into SOP by media operatives and Weiss associates such as Weisberg.
For Philip Weiss to fall for this second-rate hack job- this propagandistic bilge that reads like something the decidedly non-Episcopalian Edward Bernays might have spewed while channeling Feter Sigmund- there must be something seriously diseased with the current state of the supreme, monolithic, invincible Jewish intellect.
Does Weisberg honestly believe that an Obama victory represents redemption? Of course not; he and other decidedly non-Episcopalian fellow travelers are setting the stage, and whether or not Obama wins their ideology comes out ahead.
Statements like "If Obama loses, our children will grow up thinking of equal opportunity as a myth. His defeat would say that when handed a perfect opportunity to put the worst part of our history behind us, we chose not to…" are lies equivalent to the descriptions of Iraqi WMD's foisted on the public by the decidedly non-Episcopalian team of Feith, Wolfowitz and Libby. It is alarmist fear-mongering leavened with a heaping dollop of good ol' reliable White Guilt. And Phillip Weiss is eating the whole pie, and asking for more.
McCain is owned by the MIC and AIPAC, same as Cheney's marionette George Bush. Obama has demonstrated that he fully intends to kiss non-Episcopalian ass, same as the rest of his hell-bound associates in the crime syndicate known as the Senate. But his election doesn't signal any sort of Messiah arrival for the US, and Weisberg knows it. The question is, why doesn't Phil?
It's more complicated than racism. I will vote for Obama, have contributed to Obama. Will support him. But I find it really odd to be voting for a guy whose half brother is living in a hut in Africa, whose father had umpteen wives. It's only because McCain is such a total disaster that Obama is even plausible.
Goebbels used Edward Bernays as a How To handbook.
Adorno would take a different line today–in the wake of the new train, Feith, Wolfowitz and Libby et al–Cheney thinks he's the engine like other righteous grifters, but mayhaps in the ultimate parallel world that is, he's really just another caboose?
Two key dates: 1965 (Immigration Act) & 1967 (foreign policy, foreign aid)–the third, 2042 (at the very latest), latest Census Bureau projected demograpics.
"But I find it really odd to be voting for a guy whose half brother is living in a hut in Africa, whose father had umpteen wives."
The half brother mumbled his philosophy on TV: "You should be able to get what you wants because that's your dream." Another villager, a woman, said, " Obama should help his brother."
Why is one running for president as an elite of the elite, the other mumbling outside a shack? Perhaps the various cause factors will shed a flashlight on a lot of isms and factoids?
Perhaps whites are better than blacks; but if they are the same consider that Zimbabwe would have had a much better economic future if it had continued to allow whites to prosper.
But they preferred to dominate their own nation to being economically prosperous. Whites may be the same.
Even if Obama would lead to a better economic future, whites may prefer to be led by their own.
Instead of calling it racist, it might be better to call it characteristically human.

I'd have to agree with most of the critics of Phil on this one. The one group responsible for the "racist" onslaught against Obama has been the Jewish community. I think it's pretty darn cheap of Phil or any Jewish pundit to try to wheedle their communities political assassins onto White America.
One of the these days Phil, you guys are going to run out of tread. White America will not harbour you, let's see how you do with the Latino's and African Americans. Apart from a few gravy riders, neither community holds your own in good stead.
Recently I noticed you accused Buchanan of revisionism. No, he pretty much gets it right, Phil. Whether it's using race, deceit and skulduggery or historical/political revisionism, my community (White America) can't touch you guys.
I'm suprised by this dishonest piece from you, Phil. This is not a mistake or naivety
, it's plain revisionism.
Wow! you stirred up something with this one Phil!
All the haters are skittering about — like earwigs when a neglected tarp is lifted.
Excuse me but what community is Phil Weiss a part of. And why is the fact that Jacob Weisberg, ( who I never heard of ) is Jewish relevant here. Why can't he be just your classic pain in the ass, left wing, limousine liberal. And what makes anybody think that I want black guy in the white house.
"In the poll, 26 percent of whites say they have been victims of discrimination. "–Weisberg
Affirmative Action, as actually implemened since its roll-out,
has had an undeniable impact. To make an omelette you have to
break some eggs?
Every policy discriminates, even one that boilerplates full equality before the law. Reverse discrimination, heralded for the greater good, has negatively impacted whites with the least family resources–and often (in higher education for example) to favor blacks with considerably more resources than those left out due to their race. Ditto when "correcting" past bias against females at the expense of young men.
Obama has said publically that his own two daughters should not be the beneficiaries of any affirmtive action program. So it seems he favors real means testing; this position seems proper
as demographically the USA is on the bullet train to conversion of itself to a giant California.
Last January 18th on BookTV (C-SPAN2), Shelby Steele said "the white moral revolution is the greatest in all of world history."
When did the definition of racism change? I thought that racism is the belief in the inherent genetic superiority or inferiority of one race in relation to another. Who is claiming that Obama is inferior to McCain?
Every group in the nation, no matter how long they have been here, or what they have actually contributed to the nation, is supposed to play group ploitics except for whites? Weisberg can go to hell!
I will not vote for McCain, but there is no reason for me to vote for Obama. Obama's San Fransisco comments, radical black church and expressed desire for another round of Great Society programs and affirmative action are enough to convince me that there is no need to vote for Obama.
Why does Obama get the praise that he gets? Is he a genius? I don't see anything new in his ideas. Is he a brilliant speaker? He doesn't seem to be when the heat is on, or when he isn't sure of his audience. Is he handsome? No more so than any other skinny, big-eared, pencil-necked nerd. Is he a racial healer? We can only judge him like we judge others- by his words, and the company he has kept.
There are far larger issues facing the nation than electing Obama on the grounds of race. Weisberg is just keeping the pot boiling.
David Mills/Undercover Black Man has a couple of really interesting comments concerning both the last and this thread (Biden/Racism). I'll pick out his most obvious argument in the comment section :
No one he picked could lift Obama 10 points above McCain in the polls. (And McCain is a weak candidate.)
The Biden pick shows that Obama realizes he has a "ceiling" problem. Now I wonder… what else is he gonna do to deal with it? What else can he do?
Am I producing another italics problem, if I use italics again here?
"On the contrary, Colin Powell was just the *right kind* of black person to them."
Incidentally, Colin Powell is partially Jewish, not to mention Black and White. Not a widely known fact, but it's true.
