McCain is an aging American aristocratic son (good old boy network) who never got a good education, never really done anything and mostly made his life as a prince-consort to huge inheritance of his wife. People like that (if you met Liz Windsor hubby) are a special kind - slow, noble-looking, society lions always with a joke up their sleeve, always ready to join, represent, smile, i.e. be a decorative piece for any occasion. Most of them have no clue because they do not need any. McCain is a maverick in the sense that he wants more, he wants to be a prince-consort that became a President.<br /> He has no idea what is going on in the world, its all new and hostile for him. He needed a "tiger", someone who is quick and knows where Afghanistan is, but he was also afraid to select a VP who would overshadow him. <br /> Palin is a great choice.
