Interesting that Obama praised Olmert fulsomely yesterday:
While Olmert slinks around like a three-toed lizard in Israel:
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, whom Ma’ariv’s Shalom Yerushalmi describes as “embarrassed and ashamed,” ducked in through a side door yesterday evening to the President’s Residence, where he formally tendered his resignation to President Shimon Peres
Side door in Israel, red carpet in the U.S. Why is Obama honoring Olmert? Because the Israel lobby has distorted our political culture to ennoble all things Israeli–even as that society faces a crisis of the spirit and its own future. It would be a little like, Jimmy Carter heaps praise on Richard Nixon in 1976 in bid to win the Quaker vote….And it reminds me that the Nation in a recent article on Israel that was honest about its spiritual crisis nonetheless four times cited winners of the Israel Prize: "who received the Israel Prize in 2008… another winner of this year's Israel Prize…winner of a 2004 Israel Prize… and winner of the Israel Prize in 1996." Since when are Americans supposed to value these things?

The same thing happened to Gorbachev.
The Obamessiah is as much a creature of this
country's Zionist Power Configuration as any
other politician. It is truly astonishing
how many seemingly educated and intelligent
people have become ardent worshippers of this cult of personality.
'Zionist Power'? what do you mean by that shallow slogan? That you don't have power at all? or, Isreal shouldn't have hers own power? or do you mean "Oil Power"? or "rethoric power" as you have?
You're talking nats.
Eric Alterman writes a long and good article about Israel but even he can't bring the whole complex story of Israel. Israel is a very vital society, very rich in culture and art and the life there have many more faced that we see from the out side. Even Alterman failed to reach that complicity. The Olmert saga didn't finish yet. It will take Tzipi Livni some more weeks to create a new coalition (or else they will go into elections) and Olmert is still the Israel PM. If needed he is the one to go to war and not Livni. Obama met Olmert and he has all rights to appreciate him. I can't understand you for mocking Obama on this issue. I don't know why you bother to mix that side affair with the "Israeli Lobby". You see yourselves as small rats dancing to the flues of this lobby. I would say that you are destructed and distracted because of that lobby is doing its job within the US law and according to the US interests. The only thing is that you think that the US interest is different from the Israeli's. And most of the time you are wrong!
