We all watched Sarkozy endorsing Obama a few weeks back. Today BBC radio did a piece on Sarkozy's views on faith, that included the statement that he is "culturally Catholic, has Jewish roots, and is keenly interested in Islam." I.e., post-identity-politics. Can't wait.

he has ambitions beyond being president of France.
"culturally Catholic, has Jewish roots, and is keenly interested in Islam."
Not quite. There is nothing "culturally Catholic" about Sarkozy except his (very limited) assimilation to French culture–as E. Todd (who is jewish but assimilated) points out, Sarkozy is deeply anti-French–

His "keen interest" in Islam is roughly comparable to that of Daniel Pipes.
Sarko doesn't hide his jewish identification; Obama fits into the bobo (boheme-bourgeois) aspect of his persona like Carla Bruni herself. Obama like Sarko is sponsored by finance-capital.
E. Todd link didn't work above:

Sarkozy is a strong advocate of Holocaust religion.
Ummmm…
He is quite clearly a Jew, a VERY pro-Israel one at that.
His positions on the Holocaust education in French public schools gave his game away…
I am amazed that France has basically elected an AIPAC'er for such a high position.
His opponent tended to nuke herself.
