A few posts down from this is a post I did mocking the ADL for being so wigged out about anti-semitic theory proliferating in the wake of the market meltdown. The Jews got out with all their money, that kind of stuff. I belittled the ADL's concern, and I shouldn't have. I mean, that is their job, and there really is antisemitism out there. And yes, I'm insensitive to it. Partly because I've never really experienced it, partly because I was fed it growing up the way they feed those geese over in France, with a galvanized funnel down my gullet. Got to like it after a while!! No excuse. I should have been more thoughtful.
Though it weirds me out that the piece of antisemitism the ADL seizes on mentions Desmond Tutu. The ADL is devoted to protecting Israel from all criticism. So this is an opportunity to tar Tutu, a big critic of Israel.
Oh, another mistake. David Bloom points out that I reported the fact that Elliott Abrams is meeting Palestinians in D.C. as some sort of Prague Spring. When Abrams of course is a scary strange figure, whose frikkin job it is to talk to Palestinians about what they want, and deserves no congratulations…
