For that, and fundamentally breaking this conversation loose, we wait for someone who isn't jewish to start and authorise the mobilisation of non-jews in the organised criticism of Israel. Anna's book (I'll order, Phil I hope you are getting your % from the Amazon links) is entitled "Witness in Palestine: A Jewish American Woman in the Occupied Territories", which preserves the special jewish right to criticise and 'witness'. But no such right is deserved, and continuing to acknowledge one reinforces the power of the everyday anti-arab chauvinism of too many jews.

I'd also like to reinforce Otto's point, and the one made by Anna when asked where are the Jews. This is not a Jewish issue. That's the kind of thinking that got us into this mess. Americans — all of them — have to be allowed into this discussion.

Relinguishing control of the conversation is terribly frightening to many Jews but it's got to be done. You either believe in democracy or you don't.

But it's going to take more than Anna.

It's funny the only difference in the way Anna is regarded for her stand, as a righetous jew by some jews and as a self hating jew no doubt by other jews..and a gentile who sees Isr-Pal the same way as Anna is that gentiles are labeled anti semites by both groups of jews.

But nevertheless, we truck on….an illegal occuption is an illegal occupation, a slo mo genocide is a slo mo genocide, a nazi is a nazi.

To end this we are going to have to vote out every single AIPAC politican in congress and make sure they know that is why they are losing their office.
