What If the Northern Press Hadn’t Covered the Civil Rights Struggle, Cont’d

The other day I picked up a Haaretz report on the olive harvest outside Hebron, and the nutso colonialists trying to break it up. Here is a Chinese television report on the same episode. Let's be clear: Israelis are informed about this stuff, Chinese English-speaking viewers are seeing this stuff on TV. Not Americans.

Phil, can you how you equate Israel's war on Palestine with Jim Crow abuses?

Any lack of press coverage is explained by the fact that those who refuse coverge feel that they would have nothing to gain by providing coverage.

"And that's the way is was."

  3. Ed says:

Who or what is censoring/suppressing coverage of Israeli Jewish Zionist atrocities in American media? Mostly US Jewish Zionists. Are they comparable to Catholics or teacher’s union members in denial of the rampant pedophilia that has gone on within those organizations? The denialist mindset of average Catholic and teacher’s union pedophile apologists may be similar to that of average Jewish Zionists. But the Catholics and teacher’s unions don’t have a plank of their ideologies built around the suppression of that information; the suppression is incidental to the organizations. Jewish Zionism has, as a unwritten plank of its ideology, an agenda of censoring and suppressing the truth of what’s happening on the ground in Israel, and “oath” Jewish Zionists adhere to that suppressionist agenda, come hell or high water. For them it is religion, and probably one of the few principles that Jewish Zionists in media adhere to.

  4. Ed says:

To clarify: average diaspora Jewish Zionists in US media are well aware of Jewish Zionist atrocities in Israel, and have made a conscious choice to censor and suppress those atrocities because the perpetrators all share the same Jewish Zionist ideological agenda.

  5. anon says:

Yes. It's the difference between organized Jewry and not. Between AIPAC-ADL, and regular AMERICANS who happened to be Jews.

  6. Michael R. V. W. says:

    anon,

do you think Jews shouldn't have the right to lobby? to assemble? to organize?

or is it just to those of which you disagree with?

  7. Ed says:

Jewish Zionism should be recognized as a political party and a foreign lobby with a political/racial agenda, and Jewish Zionists should be identified in all political discourse on any issue to better inform Americans about why they might be advocating this position or that.

Had Jewish Zionists in media been identified as such prior to the Iraq war everytime one of them was advocating or spinning for it, we probably never would have invaded. Same goes with their advocacy for Israel, which probably wouldn't enjoy blank check American support if Jewish Zionists in media were identified as such when writing or speaking about Israel and US Mideast policy.

  8. Todd says:

How deep does Zionist indoctrination within the Jewish community run? Jews may disagree on many issues, but support for Zionism doesn't seem to be a major area of disagreement. Is it common for Jews who don't have a deep knowledge of, or formal commitment to, Zionist ideology to be bound to the cause for reasons of ethnicity? How big is the divide between committed Zionists and average Jews?

Why is AIPAC the single exception to sunlight on the foreign country agency law?

  10. Sword of Gideon says:

I guess the chinks have an easier time filming in Israel then Tibet for example. Or maybe investigating building code violations.

  11. KH says:

Gideon, don't forget that chink Feng Shan Ho, the Chinese consul in Vienna, saved thousands of Jews, and that the chinks opened their border to welcome the fleeing Jews.

  12. Richard Witty says:

Non-expansionist Zionism and non-aggressive Palestinian nationalism are the most rational movements in the region to support.

There certainly is non-expansionist Zionists, periodically large movements of them.

Does anyone know for a fact that there are or have been large movements of non-aggressive Palestinian nationalists?

Or have they all had rage at Israel's existence itself, as a prime component of their identity?

  13. anon says:

This all boils down to the question, What's good for the Jews?

People have their takes on this question, none of them asking, What's good for Average Americans?

  14. Richard Witty says:

Its included in the question, not the sole criteria.

A car has to simultaneously move forward, be able to brake, be able to be heated, be relatively safe in a crash.

To pick only one criteria of what is a "good car" would kill a lot of people.

Certainly you can include more than a single criteria in your political thinking?

  15. anon says:

It's the prioritizing that is questioned.
