I've been waiting for this. I have always said that J Street's role is to lobby the lobby. They've made nice to AIPAC. But a split seems to be occurring all the same. Haaretz again (they don't write about this religion and politics story in America):
[Lobby warhorse Morris] Amitay further noted: "A large number of J Street PAC-endorsed members
of Congress have some of the poorest Israel/Middle East related voting
records in the House. As a matter of policy, the Washington PAC [which Amitay founded] has
decided not to contribute to Members of Congress and candidates who
accept endorsements by J Street PAC. We hope that truly pro-Israel
political contributors will do likewise."

Beautiful. It's happening. Monolith crack. Open quarrel. Maybe an open discussion. Maybe some educated Jews? Maybe some anti-apartheid Jews in leadership? Maybe an end to "Jewish responsibility" for the brutalization of Palestinians, as Jeff Blankfort, who sent me this link, has written.

I thought AIPAC wasn't allowed to lobby the Obama admin in the first 12 months.
