I knew Meretz had a tendency to get effed up, but this woman sounds more as if her name should be Lily Tomlin (a comedienne from the Rowan & Martin Laugh-In Show and elsewhere on amriki TV)than 'Lilly Rivlin'. Is she any relation to Likudnik Ruby Rivlin?

Two documents appeared side by side in Haaretz last week, on November 21: a giant advertisement from the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and the results of a public opinion poll.The proximity was accidental, but to the point. The PLO ad sets out the details of the 2002 Saudi peace offer, decorated with the colorful flags of the 22 Arab and the 35 other Muslim countries which have endorsed the offer.

The public opinion poll predicts a landslide victory for Likud, which opposes every single word of the Saudi proposal.

The PLO ad is a first of its kind. At long last, the PLO leaders have decided to address the Israeli people directly.

The ad discloses to the Israeli population the exact terms of the all-Arab peace offer: full recognition of the State of Israel by all Arab and Muslim countries, full normalization of relations - in return for Israeli withdrawal to the pre-1967 borders and the establishment of the Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. The refugee problem would be solved by mutual agreement – meaning that Israel could veto any solution it considered unacceptable.........

STOP THE PRESSES! No more nightmare of a Palestinian Right of Return! Oops, when did the Palestinians ever say they were giving it up? They haven't? What will Scowcroft do when he hears that that they haven't given it up? Try to convince them to be satsified with a "symbolic" return. Here again, we see the "progressives" treating the Arabs like retarded children. The Great White Father knows what the Palestinian natives want, better than they know themselves. Simply dismiss what they say…they are primitives, right? (So much for tolerance and multiculturalism on the side of the pro-Palestinian "progressives").

BTW Phil-you are not on the Palestinian "Left". You and the Israeli super-Left are actually on the Palestinian "Right". Shimon Peres once said "land isn't important, the spirit is". So let's see Peres, Phil and the "progressives" tell the Palestinians that they will be better off without land. Isn't that what Uncle "the New Middle East" Shimon says? Israel will be doing them a favor by NOT giving them a state!

If a solution is worked out (coerced) before WW3 starts, I imagine the justness of it will be measurable by the relative disappointment and resentment on each side. An enforced stalemate. All major bills
to be paid for by the bankrupt USA.

Scowcroft is 83 and Zbig is 80. They may have some philosophical input on Obama's thinking, but Hillary, Rahm, and Larry are a generation younger and more energetic.
