Here's the website for Volunteers for Israel. Here are some defibrillating photographs. Blankfort says Emanuel signed up with the org in 1991 when he was still an aide to Chicago Mayor Richard Daley but working on the Clinton campaign. During the Gulf War. Not to help the U.S., mind you.

By the way the remarkable Scott McLeod of Time has done a very fine piece on the Emanuel pick depressing people in the Middle East. Gets right into the hearts and minds question. Hints at the dual loyalty. Quotes Goldberg saying Emanuel thinks about Israel constantly. Goldberg of course served in the IDF. I want a reliable narrator.
It's ironic that what was practically Obama's first major decision as president-elect has completely discredited his entire presidency before he has even taken office. What kind of "messiah" starts collaborating with Pharisees in the first day on the job? History is accelerating, and we don't have time to mess around with empty suits and charlatans like the Obama’s and the Bush's anymore. This guy is a one-termer.
Notice how the corrupt Establishment is making a big to-do out of the “historic first black presidency” and basically ignoring the degree to which Obam’s agenda pretty much parallels that of the corrupt Establishment with a few deviations here and there. It’s as if they’re saying “hey, the change America wanted is accomplished” and all Obama has to do is put his presidency on auto-pilot, and maintains the status quo. And he already seems to be obliging that attitude. This is the kind of absolutely disgusting elitist cynicism that has driven this country into the ditch. No “messiah” is ever going to emerge from the corrupt Establishment cesspool.
Re MacLeod's piece on Time's website: trickle, trickle, trickle. Out comes the New History. Irgun, King David Hotel, Deir Yassin. The Arab take on it all. It's all about Rahm Emanuel. It will be interesting to see if such a viewpoint establishes itself as the Emanuel meme.
