In any case, Wiesel belittles actions against Roman in his "Report to the President on the President's Commission on the Holocaust" of September 27, 1979.
If I can find a copy, I will put a scan up on my web site. As I remember, every claim that Wiesel uses to show that the Roma experience was somehow less than that of the Jews could easily have been turned around to show that the Jewish mass murders were not nearly as heinous as those of Roma.
After all, the saying goes, "Those who live by the sword die by the sword."

Mr Villehuchet was found dead in his 22nd floor office on Madison Avenue
A French investment manager who put $1.4bn (£1bn) into Bernard Madoff's fraud-hit scheme has killed himself in his New York office, police said.
Rene-Thierry Magon de la Villehuchet, 65, was found sitting at his desk with both wrists slashed, New York police spokesman Paul Browne said.
A bottle of pills was found near him, but there was no suicide note.
Mr Madoff is accused of running a $50bn (£34bn) Ponzi scheme that wiped out investors around the world.
Big funds like Mr Villehuchet's were especially hard hit.
Paris newspaper La Tribune said he spent the past week trying "day and night to find a way to recoup his investors' money".
Mr Villehuchet, who was married without children, was co-founder of money manager Access International.
Thanks for the explanation Rabbi. I think it's the same with the Lobby. The say that it has enormous power because they just can't comprehend that people, most Americans, disagree with them. And what's more American than the American people? They must project this idea that this group or organization has this enormous power over the world because they just can't comprehend the world and people having opposing views.

I'd like, as a thought experiment, to see a situation where Phil and his Filipinas (as i believe Pearlman once called them) don't blame Jews/Jewish power. Suppose Madoff had been McMurray? Phil would say that even Jews don't trust their own. What if McMurray's victims had been WASPS? Phil would say it shows how the transfer of power into Jewish hands is complete. What if Madoff's victims been WASPS? Phil would argue he would never do that to his own tribe?
So what is Phil? At the very least someone who inhabits a judeo-centered world, and one where every event MUST fit into one of a few pre-determined scenarios. It's not creative after you get the hang of it–it's utterly formulaic. That's why his taglines are so consistent.
Well I went to Israel as a partial Filipino, and had my mind utterly blown by what I saw there. I'm not a tagline kind of guy anymore, nor am I ever going to accept the vilification of Israel at face value.

Why would major political figures in Israel boast about the power they are able to wield in the US foreign policy system if such a monolithic entity were not in existence?
PS The fact that "most" Americans disagreeing does not explain the ineffectualism of a supposed lobby. We have seen many times over that "most" Americans can be made to be for ANY issue whether it be morally reprehensible or a just cause. In fact, this could explain the exact opposite of your intention: the fact that "most" Americans are not on the side that wants Israel to stop their belligerence in the face of international law and human rights could make one question the role of who publishes and edits the media in America.
