The Forward has launched another shot across J Street's bow, declaring that its brave coalition of 4 leftwing groups was a total failure on Capitol Hill in the ongoing legislative battle.
anger over J Street’s statement [criticizing the Israeli assault on Gaza] did not stop with [Rabbi Eric] Yoffie. Though they
were unwilling to go on the record, officials from some of the other
dovish groups voiced fury with [J Street director Jeremy] Ben-Ami. “He should have his head handed
to him,” one said, fuming.

Where are the Christian and Muslim groups to stand by J Street and build the bridge to the American street? Where are the liberal thinktanks? Where is the enlightened establishment?
On the importance of non-Jews in this battle: "…given the relationship of forces between the Jewish critics
of Israel, and the influential Zionist organizations claiming to speak for the
Jewish people, there is no realistic hope that Jewish voices alone can save the
Palestinians."

Where are the Rastafarians? The Zoroastrians? The Pagans? The Primates?
Why can't the entire human race lock arms and sing out in that universal language, intratribal Washington wonkery?
Massacre is bad
…for the Jewish state.
Bombing tunnels would be good
…for …America?
Gaza must be free
…to recognize Israel.
Israel must be free
…of the results of its Nakba.
I seem to remember a posting where Hamas executing "collaberators" was deemed a good and noble thing. By that yardstick Ben-Ami should executed along several more personages. Oterwise, why the double standard.
I heard a dialog between Yoffie and the exec director of Brit Zedek a couple nights ago.
They didn't bicker.
They differed, and only about tactics and recommendations for Israel.

Would it add any legitimacy to J Street if CAIR, ISNA or other Muslim groups did join them? Or would it only further the suspicion of the right wing Jewish organizations that J Street is working with the "other" side? Many of the American Muslim and Arab groups have been very active and vocal over the last two weeks… but targeting their own constituencies.
Best thing is to donate to J Street. I gave them $100.
