Nine young Jewish men, most of them under the age of 18, were arrested Sunday night on suspicion of torching property belonging to Arab residents of the northern city of Nazareth Illit over the past few months.

The nine gang members were expected to be brought before a judge on Monday morning. Two of the group members are 22 years old, and the rest are aged 15 to 18.

They are suspected of carrying out the violent acts throughout October and November. They were arrested following concrete intelligence received by the police, who believe they have enough evidence to indict them.

"The gang engaged in torching cars, attempting to set fire to apartments and violence offenses against Arabs living in Nazareth Illit," said Superintendent Lutfi Falah, commander of the local police station.
