Makes you wonder what will happen to the Arab consensus behind the Arab peace intiative… And of course the world Jewish consensus behind Zionism…

Understandably. Remember Leon Klinghoffer, shot and thrown overboard from a cruise ship in 1985? Thanks to Israel's Gaza massacre, there will be plenty more such incidents in the future, directed against both innocent and not-so-innocent westerners.
With its callous massacres, Israel is poisoning the global well for all rich-country tourists.
An appropriate, 'proportional' response would be to ban Israeli tourists. This would provide at least some protection against hostage-taking for the citizens of countries implementing such a policy — much as a Canadian flag pin used to provide some immunity against anti-Americanism … at least until Canada stupidly got involved in NATO's suicidal Afghanistan mission.
Israel's actions are utterly self-serving, taken with complete disregard for its western patrons and apologists. Time for the west to start selfishly asserting its own interests, instead of selling its soul to Shoah business.
As of last week when Israel attacked defenseless Gaza, Holocaust I is ancient history. It need no longer concern us. Because Holocaust II is underway, courtesy of the victims of Holocaust I. Sick but true.

That is part and parcel of the 'shaping the political battlespace' objective of the Israeli attack. What's the best way to ensure you won't have to make peace? Brutalize your potential negotiating partners so they won't be willing to sit in the same room with you, no matter what the terms. Then you can pound your chest and exclaim "See! I offer these generous terms! It is those barbaric Arabs who are to blame! They are so racist they won't even agree to talk with me face to face! Do you see now what we Israelis have to deal with all the time?"
The solution to this is classic 'skin in the game'. This dynamic will change when there is increased proliferation of nuclear weapons in the Muslim world. The knowledge that stoneburners are aimed at one's own house and children can make even the most hyperbolic decision-maker a little more cautious. Yes, it is madness. There are other paths we could be walking down. Who is responsible for the fact that we are not?
