‘Daily News’ publisher to Gaza: Drop dead

This sort of story makes me sick. Here's Marcia Kramer of WCBS television in New York carrying the water for the Israel lobby by turning on Hillary Clinton for her statements pressing for Israel to speed up aid to Gaza.

On Thursday, as Secretary of State she had yet another about face in
the form of angry messages demanding Israel speed up aid to Gaza.
Jewish leaders are furious.

"I am very surprised, frankly, at this statement from the United States
government and from the secretary of state," said Mortimer Zuckerman,
publisher of the New York Daily News and member of the NYC Jewish
Community Relations Council.

Oh god, is this the way Jews are supposed to behave? The way anyone should behave? 350 children in a blockaded territory far away are dead and tens of thousands are homeless because of a brutal assault by another country, and a leading American publisher is standing in their way? This is why it is important to talk about the Israel lobby. You have to take power on directly. And yes, I wonder about Kramer too, to be serving this sort of attack.

Let the zios keep on attacking this adm. Every time they do they lose any power they had and get more negative exposure.
I imagine they will get even uglier ( and louder and louder) when and if Obama gets down to the real nitty gritty of an I-P settlement.

I have to comment on the Jews use of the word "operation" as applied to Gaza. Very revealing, to see a word which connotes a surgical procedure upon a willing commatose person on an operating table. The Jews who use this word "operation" are all on the same page and they convey accurately all the amorality and horror of minds that have crossed the rubicon of human decency.

What the "operation" showed the rest of humanity, reminded them of Pastor Niemöller's words about the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power:

First they came for the Gazans, and I didn't speak up because it was just an "operation".

  3. Eva Smagacz says:

Zuckerman said. "We surely know what Hamas stands for as I say they are the forward battalions of Iran."

Iranian battalions in Gaza, and we never knew.

  4. Peter says:

Just to nitpick on your words, "a brutal assault by another country": Is Israel another country? Isn't the official Israeli position that the Gaza Strip is still a "disputed territory", with Israel being one of the parties to the "dispute"? And as far as the rest of the world is concerned, officially anyway, Israel is still the occupying power in the Gaza Strip and therefore still responsible for the well-being of the people living there.

Screw nitpicking the words, how about the intent. The neo-nazis here have no problem with Iran aiding Hamas in their genocidal plans, but Israel defending itself? hell, no. The Jews are supposed to commit suicide.

  6. Jim Haygood says:

The Jewish community still harbors a rump of historical tailgunners who insist that the U.S. didn't do enough during WW II to swoop to the rescue of beleaguered Jews.

But now when it's the Gazans in humanitarian need, Jewish leaders are 'furious' at pressure on Israel to stop blocking it.

Again I assert that the 'Holocaust guilt' era ended on 27 Dec 2008. You can't be victim and victimizer at the same time. Nobody feels sorry for wealthy, sociopathic 'Jewish leaders' like Zuckerman. Time to put their crappy little country on a diet. No more dollars for despots.

"operation" feels like a standard military term.

    Military operation

A whole series of operation … come to mind.

  8. American Skeptic says:

Wow, Phillip, the canard of "anti-Israel" is constantly in the news lately. From the appointment of Chas Freeman, to Hillary talking tough about speeding up the aid to desperate Gazans, to Dennis Ross' brief in the Middle East being watered down . . .

It seems the neo-cons are getting their panties in a bunch that the inevitable War on Iran is not progressing at the speed it did when there were two dozen dual Israeli/American citizens in sensitive positions of the Bush administration.

Also, can anyone tell me about Dov Hifkind — is he part of the Israeli Knesset, or a duly elected American official? Hard to tell, since he never appears in the media unless there's some Israeli interest in the matter.

  9. *Breaking research finds US weapons in Gaza?

    *From: Amnesty International USA (alerts@takeaction.amnestyusa.org)

“A new report … reveals that U.S.-made white phosphorus artillery shells among other U.S. weapons were found throughout Gaza. When white phosphorus munitions are used in densely-populated civilian areas as Israel has, it violates international humanitarian law’s prohibition on indiscriminate attacks and amounts to a war crime.

In light of this new finding, we are urging Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to immediately call for:
    > an investigation into Israel’s use of U.S. arms in Gaza
    > a suspension of U.S. military aid to Israel and
    > to urge the United Nations to impose an arms embargo on all parties in the conflict…..

Urge Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to immediately call for an investigation into Israel’s use of U.S. arms in Gaza and a suspension of military aid.….”

*Tell Obama – No Military Aid to Israel

*From: Council for the National Interest Foundation (cnif@democracyinaction.org)

"The recent attacks on Gaza vividly demonstrate why we need to reevaluate military Aid to Israel. During the Bush Administration a memorandum was signed to provide Israel with $30 billion dollars of military aid to be disbursed over the next 10 years. Each year this estimated $3 billion dollars of American taxpayer money goes unaccounted for. Without a doubt this aid financed the assault on Gaza…
Please send a letter … to President Obama encouraging him to with hold military aid to Israel and to work towards a resolution of the Palestinian situation. Without US pressure Israel will never agree to allow the creation of a Palestinian state."

Chris writes: "Israel defending itself? hell, no. The Jews are supposed to commit suicide."

Why this equation of Israel with the Jews? Sure, Israel's power structure is dominated overwhelmingly by Jews, but the people in the Gaza Strip are part of Israel as well. Most of them even have homes in what the current regime considers its non-disputed territory, although that same regime won't let those people live in their own homes there.
