From Alan Dershowitz's blogpost in the Jerusalem Post. My read is that Dershowitz is afraid of what is happening in the U.S. and is desperate to stop it going forward, symbolically. Dershowitz has real power here; he has already caused Hampshire to wriggle and wiggle.
Don't go wobbly on us, Hampshire!
Dershowitz does this out of his belief that Israel is the "secular religion" for American Jews. Gosh. I don't know about that. He ought to read this statement by Brandeis President Jehuda Reinharz, in Haaretz two years ago:
"My feeling –
and that of many people – following Walt and Mearsheimer and other
publications is that we are at the start of a new era with regard to
attitudes toward Israel in the U.S."
