Many , including left wing zionist, have urged that the Palestinians adopt nonviolent means of protest. Looks like we will soon see if Israel allows that to happen.

Same old story. The left-liberal US establishment says of the Palestinians: "Oh, why don't they do peaceful demonstrations and sit-ins instead of violent resistance. They'd get a lot further." But when they do, Israel kicks them in the teeth, and the liberals say nothing. Why the hell isn't Obama on the horn to Olmert about this? Why wasn't Clinton ever on the phone to Israeli PM's about this kind of behavior. (We know why Bush wasn't; he endorses this kind of treatment of Muslims.)

The left-liberals are actually far more damaging to the cause of peace than is widely perceived, because they run and get elected on professing to be all about human rights, civil rights, equal rights and opposition to warmongering, but once they're in power, they immediately ape Republicans.

Who's more dangerous: the enemy you know and can target, or the "friend" who cynically stabs you in the back in the heat of a battle?

Personally, Palestinians just going on by their daily lives, lining up at checkpoints, avoiding roadblocks, getting arrested and then humiliated, their houses demolished, their olive trees burned down, and doing so without retaliation, is non-violent resistance.

Except those palestinians who are trying to figure out how to kill Jews. And while there may only be one in 1000, the 999 really have little choice but to endure the inconvenience. After all, they are doing nothing to stop the violence.

The "violence" is instigated by Israel and it's brutal occupation. That only 1 in 1000 Palestinians may choose to fight back just shows how peaceful the Palestinians are, and further illustrates the depravity of Israel and its apologists.

The "life of a Jew" in the eyes of a Palestinian is measured by that Palestinian's treatment at the hands of the Jewish state, largely supported by the Israeli public and Jewish diaspora.

The life of a Palestinian in the eyes of a Jew, in contrast, is ideologically measured and is considered less than human.

Recent poll reveals steep rise in racist views against Arabs in Israel; many participants feel hatred, fear when overhearing Arabic, 75 percent don’t approve of shared apartment buildings

Over half of the Jewish population in Israel believes the marriage of a Jewish woman to an Arab man is equal to national treason, according to a recent survey by the Geocartography Institute.

The survey, which was conducted for the Center Against Racism, also found that over 75 percent of participants did not approve of apartment buildings being shared between Arabs and Jews. Sixty percent of participants said they would not allow an Arab to visit their home.

About 40 percent of participants agreed that “Arabs should have their right to vote for Knesset revoked”. The number was 55 percent lower in the previous survey. Also, over half of the participants agreed that Israel should encourage its Arab citizens to immigrate from the country.

Over half of the participants said they would not want to work under the direct management of an Arab, and 55 percent said “Arabs and Jews should be separated at entertainment sites”.

‘Arab culture inferior’

When asked what they thought of Arab culture, over 37 percent replied, “The Arab culture is inferior.”

Non-violent resistance is nothing new for Palestinians, and they did not need the urging of Zionists or anyone else in order to adopted it. And Israel has always cruelly squashed and successfully hidden from view Palestinian efforts and non-violent resistance.

Because most of them have no idea that Palestinians have used non-violence for decades. They don't know, for example, that the first Intifada began as a primarily non-violent action with a very broad scope.

Most likely because he has never even heard of the town of Jayyous, let alone its non-violent protests, or what the Israelis are doing there now.

Not just Muslims. There are a lot of Christian Palestinians, and they have been just as involved in resistance, both violent and non-violent, as Muslims.
