Lieberman will have plenty of company: right-wing rogues gallery to enter the Knesset

It's scary when Avigdor Lieberman starts looking like a reasonable centrist. The YNet article "Far rightists coming to Knesset" reveals that Baruch Marzel will be following National Union Knesset Member Michael Ben Ari into the government as his advisor. Baruch Marzel is a Hebron settler who was Meir Kahane's "right-hand man." He was active in the Kach party and helped start the similar Jewish National Front which was just won its first ever seat in the Knesset.  Recently Marzel has been in the news for trying to organize a march of Jewish  supremacists through Umm Al Fahm, the second largest Palestinian city inside Israel.

But simply referring to Marzel as a racist is selling him short. Marzel is also known for calling for Israeli peace activist Uri Avnery to be assassinated, for saying a bird flu outbreak in southern Israel was God's punishment for the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and for inciting violence against people attending Israel's Gay Pride festivities in Jerusalem. Marzel promised in 2006
"The stabbing incident during last year's parade will seem minor in comparison with what is anticipated this year. We have to declare a holy war." Welcome to the halls of power Baruch. Scary.  (Adam Horowitz)
