No politician. A student at University of Rochester, where they organized an occupation. The failure of our leaders to denounce unspeakable things as unspeakable things is the reason this groundswell movement is happening among students and grassroots. These kids also say that the actions in the UK are spreading "like wildfire" in the US, that non-Muslim kids are excited to join demonstrations with Muslims, and that the occupation of Palestine exposes the whole war on terror. This is a great time for activism and non-profit stuff, too, because with the economy in the dumps, kids who otherwise wouldn't look to get involved in these endeavors may well decide to, since the usual American way of "get out and make as much money as you can" does not have nearly as many doors open as it used to.
'The failure of our leaders to denounce unspeakable things as unspeakable things is the reason this groundswell movement is happening among students and grassroots.'
Yes, it's the recognition of a contemptible lack of backbone in their representatives, the fact that their country is 'led' by appeasers who by their silence make the US complicit in ethnic cleansing.
I believe out leaders denounced the palestinians firing missles into civillian population areas of israel.
What Hamas is doing is unspeakable.
I agree with you Glenn, especially when, in our case, our governments have signed United Nations Resolutions.
to Chris Berel's "What Hamas is doing is unspeakable."
What are you going to call it when a serious rocket (not a bottle-rocket made out of garbage-dump parts) guided by GPS coordinates lands on Tel Aviv?
I would call it a proportionate response to a similar rocket that landed in Lebanon. In 1982.
I'll call it the general palestinian suicide pact.
chris berel needs to take Etiology 101 as soon as his mama will let let him. Same goes for the USA congress–their mama is AIPAC.
Those crappy Palestinian rockets are the symptom, zionist occupation the root disease.
I'd like to see a crappy palestinian rocket stuck up your ass
