The Jewish political leadership in the U.S. grows ever more conservative, so as to protect Israel from any criticism. From the Jerusalem Post:
[M]ore important, he [an American Jewish leadership official, anonymous] maintained, was that US President Barack Obama was squarely behind a peace deal. His early moves appointing George Mitchell as a Middle East envoy and reaching out to the Arab world "reverberated in the region, but it also reverberated on Capitol Hill," where members of Congress "feel more emboldened" to speak out on the issue.
"You see that we have more of these very liberal members of Congress," she said. "You have people who are now in Congress who don't feel accountable to voters of a wider political spectrum, and that's bad for Israel, because support for Israel is much stronger among centrists and conservatives than among liberals."

The notions of "liberal" and "conservative" have become so debased they cease to mean anything useful anymore, and really should be dropped from the vernacular.
If "liberal" used to mean "for the people" (and I don't know that it ever did), then the idea that "we have more of these very liberal members of Congress" is patently absurd.
What we have is two groups that do everything they can to collect as much money as they can (the only way to compete in American politics), and then instantly become beholden to those who supplied it.
There are exceptions, and these are the people Americans should be supporting. They are few, and they are found on both "sides" of the political aisle.
I think it's been pretty well established that Dems have necessarily moved towards the center–Obama certainly reflects that and wouldn't have been able to win otherwise.
Y'll are just putting your eggs into the financial collapse–but as per usual, you're going to end up disappointed. Sorry about that. :-)
@ Suzanne,
Certainly the financial collapse is playing a role in the exposure of Zionism as comprised of a hostile elite, given the large number of Jewish Wall Street Banksters and executives integral to the collapse, most of whom are also Zionists.
But I suspect that the main factors at play in the coming downfall of Zionism in America is that Zionists comprise a fifth column that subordinates America’s interests to Israel’s, and actually operates within our borders on Israel’s behalf; that Zionism is an institutionally racist, supremacist, expansionist ideology with caste-system values and beliefs completely inconsistent and incompatible with Western norms, and mixes about as well with Western values as oil does with water; and that, historically, Zionists have always been unmasked by the countries comprising Western civilization sooner or later, and sent packing. In other words, their swindle always has an expiration date, which at some point inevitably catches up with them.
So unless the Zionists have somehow managed to suspend the march of history and the laws of intellectual deduction, they are right now on a downward slope as a force in America. And Zionism's own collapse here is really just a matter of time.
So Ed has gone full circle from antisemitism to judeophobia?
Ed, chris berel asks you to now put what you say in a formula he recognizes. You know the one, something like: "Since the dawn of time jews have always been persecuted by biological hate-loving anti-semites, and that's how and why they were dispersed around the globe. But the plucky tribe stuck together against all odds. Israel is their safe haven. God gave them that land. You, Ed, have sinned by
suggesting we look at conduct to evaluate any group and act accordingly.
Thank you, Citizen, you have proven your ignorance beyond any shadow of doubt.
