Liberals continue to deny the influence of the Israel lobby, thereby plunging their readers into a tarn of ignorance

Jeff Blankfort writes:

At Huffpo, Stephen Zunes provides an excellent breakdown of the restrictions placed on the Palestinians by Congress in the new budget but remains in stolid denial that it is the result of the pressure of the lobby. What is the reason for Pelosi and the Democrats taking the pro-Israel positions that they do? According to Zunes, it's simply "racism." Now, it's true that racism is involved but that is hardly an answer. I have debated Zunes twice and he simply refuses to accept the facts about the lobby's funding of the Democrats, insisting that the Aerospace industry gives more which is so off the mark that it's a joke. In an on-air debate with me he claimed he would be a Zionist (he's not Jewish) "until there is no more anti-semitism" and portrayed Israel as an example  of "global affirmative action."

"'…he would be a Zionist (he's not Jewish) "until there is no more anti-semitism" and portrayed Israel as an example of "global affirmative action."'

    in other words

zunes is a dip and butt sucking liar.

  2. Citizen says:

Global affirmative action? Phil, you sure that was Zunes and not LeaNder?

Phil, did you ask Zunes, "What about the Palestinians and our image the world?"

And did you follow up with, "Doesn't that make you a racist like Pelosi? You know, the leader who
also wants to give illegal aliens all the benefits of being legal citizens at the expense of the rest of us?"

These are in French but hopefully, if you post them, some of your readers will be able to follow them. Totally outrageous and a shame for Humanity! Extremely distressing!

Why anyone is surprised at the dems doing this is beyond me. They are and have been for a long time totally owned by zionist campaign money.
I said earlier that it doesn't matter what Obamas's aims are for I-P, he will be up against his own party on the issue.

Look, we all know congress is corrupted beyond reform ,whether it's Israel or WS or the Military Industrials..thirty pieces silver will get you anything you want from congress.

I-P is the just the most Supreme Expression of congressional corruption…the one that says "We Will Sell Wars and Genocide for Campaign Money". It's the most glaring and fatal corruption because they know what they are doing, how it is killing innocent people in a bloody fashion that the entire world sees …and yet…They Don't Care.

Israel is all about getting that jewish campaign money to keep their office and power baby.

It's racism for the zionist jews in congress,it's money for the gentile zionist in congress.

Look, we all know that congress is corrupted beyond reform. Doesn't matter if it's Israel or WS or Military Industrials. Israel is just the most supreme expression of that corruption. The one that says…"We Will Sell Wars and Genocide for Jewish Campaign Money".
And it's the supreme corruption because they see the results of it in bloody bit and pieces of dead women and children that the enitre world sees…and yet…They Don't Care.
It's all about that jewish campaign money to keep their offices and power baby.

What should we call them? Death Merchants? Filth of the earth? Traitors? Doesn't seem to be a name bad enough for them.

Anyway, once you actually understand this and "accept it" you won't care what happens to the US financially or any other way because Obama isn't going to ever go far enough to clean out congress and there is no other cure for this except a total upheaval in this country, a total burn down of this government where citizens have no other choice and are finally forced to start their government over.

  6. Ed says:

Zunes is the racist, because as Left-Judeophile, he believes that Jews have a perpetual right to murder non-Jews who get in the way of their totalitarian "affirmative action" collaboration.

I also note, there is a strong component of anti-Christian racism on the Left. In Zunes squirming Left-atheist mind, the Soviet Union was no doubt practicing "affirmative action" when it murdered millions.

  7. citizen says:

Ed, I think you give Zunes too much credit for flying so high he could see that much, and make a conscious decision–even if that faulty. He's no poet.

  8. Seth says:

Is there a full citation or link to what Zunes actually said, instead of Blankfort's version of what he said?

  9. Dom says:

    Ed Re:zunes' alleged anti-Christian racism…

No offense Ed, but do you EVER have the slightest idea what you are talking about? Zunes is a Catholic, teaching at a Jesuit Catholic university (link to usfca.edu

Both of these phenomenon essentially explain his refusal to "see" the Israel lobby, as opposed to your absurd and hallucinatory thought processes.

The US Catholic Church has invested far too much time and energy in Catholic-Jewish dialogue to allow the relationship between US Catholics and US Jews to be put at risk by a single (Catholic) professor.

It may not be the correct moral choice (I don't know) but that is the reality. Ask Joachim Martillo…

  10. SUki says:

Watch those Catholic priests when there's little boys or Zionists around.

  11. moonkoon says:

Zune acknowledges other lobbies, ("…anti-Palestinian amendments introduced from the floor by Senator John Kyl (R-AZ) were voted down after vigorous lobbying by Americans for Peace Now…") but there is no mention of pro-Israeli lobbying in his otherwise lucid criticism of Congress's idea of how to handle the problems arising from expansionist Israeli belligerence.
In a way he is right to focus on the US decision makers, as they do pass the legislation that enables the continuing disaster, but to write stuff like,

"The Democrats are willing to sabotage any Palestinian government that dares include — even as a minority in a broad coalition — any hard-line anti-Israeli party, yet they have no problems whatsoever in pouring billions of taxpayer dollars into supporting an Israeli government dominated by hard-line anti-Palestinian parties…"

    and

"… Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues continue to pursue nonproliferation based on ideological litmus tests rather than universal law-based principles….
…The appropriations bill stipulates that the United States will support the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency … "only if the Secretary of State determines … that Israel is not being denied its right to participate in the activities of that Agency." This appears to be an effort to prevent one of the means by which the United Nations could conceivably pressure Israel into ending its ongoing violation of Resolution 487, which calls on Israel to place its nuclear facilities under the trusteeship of the IAEA. "

  12. delia says:

There is so much racism written into this budget. What does Congress do? Send it to Israel for approval first? Or is the Lobby really that racist?

  13. Ed says:

Certain corrupt Catholics will swallow whatever narrative they have to to keep the power of a corrupted Church intact. In Zunes' case, and as a good "liberal," he's replaced the narrative of the Church with the narrative of the corrupt two-party regime.

Christ swallowed nothing, and was killed for his refusal.

Zunes can choke on that, as can all the othe corrupt "Christian" Zionists who like to take it up the ying from Judeofascist Pharisees.

  14. Ed says:

Now, back to the matter of a US military coup, which I alluded to earlier.

A military coup would actually be an action to take BACK the government from those who have usurped it on behalf of anti-American, alien interests.

The REAL treason has already been accomplished by the Neocons and Neolibs. What we're all engaged in now is an effort to re-take the government for the People. This, of course, is a non-violent, peaceful and Constitutional effort, employing our free speech rights, as the Founders always intended such actions. But if that doesn't succeed due to the iron grip of the two-party regime, which uses the full faith and credit of the US government and its police powers to perpetuate its own duopoly, and its foreign tyranny, then I wouldn't be surprised if the US Military eventually takes matters into its own hands.

And it would be well within its Constitutional rights to do so. And when it was demonstrated to Americans that a foreign government had indeed usurped the US government for its own purposes, the American people would thank the US Military for said coup.

  15. Rowan says:

Ed, you are still frothing at the mouth. Wipe the spittle from your lips.

  16. dance says:

He wrote a good article and spoke about issues that usually do not get an airing. Even if he did not speak about the major issue to which this blog is devoted (if that is the Zionist lobby as opposed to justice for the Palestinians), he is asking his readers to question, and he is pointing out injustice. His final paragraph:

It will be President Obama, and not the Democratic-controlled Congress, who will ultimately determine the direction of U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and elsewhere in the coming years. Unfortunately, even assuming the best of intentions by a president who came to office in large part due to popular dissatisfaction with the direction of U.S. policy in the region, he won't be able to fundamentally change the direction of that policy if Congress continues to pursue policies supporting militarization, occupation, and repression.

will make people think, and who knows, action and research might stem from that.

  17. Rob says:

Both Dems and Republicans are on AIPAC's leash. America is doomed through Israeli parasitism.

  18. stevieb says:

I have a hard time believing that Zunes would say something as stupid as his affirmative action comment.

It's one of the stupidest comments I've ever heard, I think.

  19. stevieb says:

Anybody have a link to this 'on-air debate' between Blankfort and Zunes?

  20. Rowan says:

great discussion, and I see it is four years old.
