AJC’s David Harris sure seems to be running away from debate with Mearsheimer and Walt

A few weeks ago the American Jewish Committee's executive director, David Harris, accused John Mearsheimer of running away from a debate.

Mearsheimer isn't running away from debate. On this website last weekend he welcomed a debate with Harris over Whether the Israel lobby is good for America and Israel, and offered favorable terms: he and his co-author Steve Walt will come to New York.

I emailed Harris two days ago, just in case he hadn't seen Mearsheimer's statement, asking him what he was going to do about it. No response.

In Response to Rabbi Seltzer, I pointed out:

Some Jews are so deeply enmeshed in a delusional world of murderous anti-Semitic non-Jews that rational interfaith discussion becomes impossible, and for such Jews anyone not sharing the delusion is an enemy. At least Rabbi Seltzer makes it clear where he stands. It is much more difficult to deal with Jews that hide their delusional mindset.

I have a collection of Harris' articles and essays. He clearly belongs to the latter group of Jews. Debating such people — either in discussion of interfaith or Zionism — is usually fruitless.
