Maybe Iran isn’t following Iraq script? (Harman’s revisions)

Scott McConnell, noting the Jane Harman news, points out that this is a wrinkle in the last neocon push:

I assume that powerful Congressmen and women have a pretty good sense of political realities, so I took it as a very good sign that Jane Harman felt some need to back away from bellicose statements made to AIPAC, when challenged by the National Iranian American Council, led by Trita Parsi. .. Harman seemed to have backed off with a semi- apology. This seems to me better than almost anything that happened in Congress in 2002-2003.

It would help if some Democrats started asking for her resignation. Or at least condemned the original remarks. Not that i expect support for peace from Democratic Party politicians, but it would be nice if they surprised me sometimes.

I read a recent article on the CIA stating that Israel knows it can't take on Iran by itself and that an Israel-US alliance would not work at the moment either. The director of the CIA stated that Israel will try to market the war to a bunch of countries.

Here's the article: http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=95435&se... BTW, is there any documentation on the terms of Egypt's peace deal w/ Israel? Ditto for Jordan? Someone said that they have to sell Israel their oil or something? Is this true?

Iran has spent the last 6 years making sure it's not the next Iraq – I have to say, the Iranians have done a brilliant job.
