‘New York Times’ blows the Netanyahu-Obama story. Why?

Reuters got the story; it's all about Obama insisting on the two-state solution. Huffpo got this. So did French TV. So did the Washington Post.

But The New York Times blew the story. "OBama Tells Netanyahu He Has an Iran Timetable." The first few paragraphs were chiefly about Netanyahu and Obama agreeing that Iran must be taken on. Why did "The Times" make the story talking points for the rightwing? Why didn't it use this opportunity to galvanize the support for a progressive president taking on a rightwing foreign leader?

David Bromwich seizes on the same story.
