From the Israel Policy Forum site (quoting Yedioth Ahronoth): Ehud Barak is going to tell George Mitchell today that Israel plans to finish building 2000 units and won't freeze construction in East Jerusalem. Oh–and freeze only lasts for three to six months.
[M]essages began to come in from Washington indicating that the United
States had no intention of compromising on a complete settlement
construction freeze.
A source in the American administration said
that Israeli willingness to halt all construction for a limited period
of time was unacceptable.
