If you use your real name these games are really threatening. How often does someone google a name. Blog comments would be a good thing to see what the more private views of the person are. How easy to take the spoofer for the real person. Would you look closer, take the time to check? This is not a joke, but defamation. Leander, I think you were here about a year ago, when exactly that happened to me. Someone posted an offensive screed in my name, someone else found it by googling my name, she told my hebrew teacher about it, and I got kicked off my hebrew course.

You can't be present all the time either. That's the problem. And obviously the best time for spoofing is when the person isn't around.

The IP address is registered by the blog when someone posts. They could easily look it up and ban the person responsible.
