Um, membership in the Klan, CPUSA, Nazis etc, IS NOT A CRIME. It's what people DO that constitutes a crime. Just like hate per se is not a crime. A hate crime is a crime with enhanced penalties when motivated by racial, religious, etc hate.

Actually, I think it's very common for Jews convicted of crimes abroad to flee to Israel and escape jail-time/etc.
