Formerly on enemies list, Ben-Ami is breaking bread in the big house with Hoenlein and Foxman

Last winter at the 92d Street Y, Jeremy Ben-Ami of J Street complained that he had never been invited to a Federation meeting, the Jewish Establishment, and when he did get invited to a meeting of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, there was big pressure to disinvite him.
And no wonder, Ben-Ami is fracturing the monolith of the Jewish lobby (Uh-oh, I said it–Jewish lobby, not Israel lobby).
Well today JTA reports that Obama is meeting with Jewish leaders, including Ben-Ami and Debra DeLee of Americans for Peace Now, and who else is there, the usual company of Gaza war cheerleaders: Malcolm Hoenlein of the Conference of Presidents, David Victor of AIPAC, Eric Yoffie of the Reforms, and Abe Foxman of Foxman, Incorporated. (A lot of other no-daylight-wiht-Netanyahus, too)
And who do you think will be moving ideologically/politically? Ben-Ami? No f'ing way. Foxman and Hoenlein are going to be edging left left left, trying desperately to find the tapemarks for their feet on the White House stage.
Good luck, peace camp.

And look who's not coming to the White House: Mort Klein of the ZOA, Bnai Brith, and the American Jewish Congress, all of whom have gone way right…

Isn't anyone bothered that unlike any other group of US citizens the ethnic Ashkenazi community maintains its own executive branch, which meets with the US president as part of its own international politics? From Makdisi Overlooks US Journalistic Nazification:

Standard colonialist discourse associates settler-colonies with a colonial motherland, which dispatches colonists to regions under imperial control. In the case of Zionism, the British government was not dispatching its own citizens to colonize Palestine and does not fit the role of a traditional colonial motherland. Identifying the colonial motherland requires understanding of the politics of historic Poland. The Polish government from the medieval to early modern period treated different ethnic groups functionally in a sort of caste system and gave them full autonomy as long as they fulfilled their designated role. Polish Armenians had a governing council called the Voit while in principle the Council of the Four Lands, to which the most important Jewish communities (kehillot) sent delegates, ruled Polish Jewry from the 16th until the 18th century when the Jewish Council failed to meet its tax obligations. Thus Eastern European Jews or ethnic Ashkenazim had the habit of a sort of virtual state system. After Commonwealth Poland was divided between Prussian, Russia, and Austria, ethnic Ashkenazim developed transnational politics.

In June: Scott Horton Interviews Isaac Luria June 02, 2009 [27:45] http://antiwar.com/radio/2009/06/02/isaac-luria/ "Isaac Luria is Campaigns Director for the progressive pro-peace, pro-Israel lobby, J Street." I found it an interesting interview, and I think it's important to remember — J-Street 'is' a Pro-Israel lobby, and admits it is part of the Israel Lobby. They realize that Israel gets a blank check from the US, but haven't provided any solutions on how a blank check going to Israel can be curtailed. They realize the problems in the territories, but are they prepared to push the issue they are indeed occupied as well as illegal? Also, does J-Street stand on Iran? Good interview. Apparently only 8% of American Jews are concerned about Israel, having it at the top of their agenda.

Yes, good! Israel has turned far off the page into a criminal state of treason. It was a long slow burn. And it's not all Israel's fault but the Israeli governments, & the Military Industrial Complex which is completely packed with racists & Zionist criminals of all type……German Zionists, Swiss Zionists, and good ol Robert McNamara Globalists too. All of them are criminals, they should join zionazi Netanyahu…. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/arti... http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/arti... The settlements and constant expansion of that country has got to stop since it doesn't even define its own borders!
