Jewish colonies now seeking tourism, including armored buses to outposts

Rob Browne writes:

Here is an Agence France Presse article about groups in the settler movement trying to increase tourism to the settlements.  The logic is, visitors will form such a strong attachement to these settlers and their settlements that they will challenge any potential Israeli government freeze or removal of settlements.

For the larger settlements, there are feel-good festivals.  For the outposts, there are trips in armored buses to show people the heroism of the settlers and the dangers they face every day. I wonder what people like Max Blumenthal, Joseph Dana, David Shulman, and others that have seen the darker side of the settlers think about this?

Heck, who needs negotiations and international law when you can have clowns and plump cherries!

Who needs to bother going to a circus at all when you have Medea Benjamin and Mondoweiss?

From the article: "We need the Golan. People need it to spend their vacations," says Bitane as loudspeakers blare out James Brown's signature tune "I feel good".

Impossible to avoid the conclusion that the israelis have now outpaced the Nazis in terms of stomach-turning depravity.

I would be scared to visit the outposts and might stay on the bus. What are you going to visit there, outhouses? Oh, I might be blown away because it all part of god's plan. How silly. It's similar to visiting the zoo to see the baboon exhibit without protective glass. You could bring some food to throw at the settlers, in the event they attack the bus. If only Hamas thought of this novel idea first. Oh yeah, no one would be able to visit them because of the blockade.

If you're blown away, it is Allah's will. Who are you to disrespect Allah!!!!!

Oh man, [salivating] my dream vacation! An armored bus ride to a genuine 21rst century colony! Wow! Grab the wife and kids; it'll be wholesome family fun!

Methinks the wackos are starting to feel desperate.

Just as it is impossible for you to actually think.

THOUSANDS of Israeli children ride armored school buses to school every day. Arab children do not need this. Who then is shooting at whom? Many Israeli public transport buses that run near Arab neighborhoods are either riot-proofed or bullet-proofed. Arabs run bus lines without such protections. Who is shooting at whom? Diplomats and "journalists" ride in bullet- and bomb-proofed vehicles, and if travelling in Arab neighborhoods, ONLY in those vehicles. Who is shooting at whom? Can MondoLies tell the truth? Ever?
