I think that when one is discussing zionism and political Judaism, one has to always remind themselves that Judaism by its nature is bipolar in the sense that it sets up a world view where there are Jews, and non-Jews, and the Jewish god treats them differently. One can argue until the cows comes home about whether being god's chosen people is a blessing or a curse, and I am sure that many average SS men felt the same way. For every Einstein there has been a Madoff. No giant leaders have ever addressed this issue in the whole history of Man except those who came down on one side or the other. It is important because each generation of born non-Jews and born Jews have had to suffer the impact of the configuration of power at all times in human history for at least three thousand years.

I didn't know where else to put this but since we're talking about the Atlantic, Andrew Sullivan had this interesting thought today about when the US media started getting squishy on the use of the word "torture": NPR's "Torture" Policy The ombudsman explains: when other countries do it, it's torture; when the US does it, because we're not doing it for political repression, it isn't torture. Even if the techniques are identical. This is the policy of the entire MSM. Again: it isn't journalism. It's government propaganda. And they revel in it. The New York Times has not responded in any way to my own exhaustive exposure of their identical double-standard. For the NYT, the two countries that cannot be accused of torture are Israel and the US. Surprise! Check out the post if you missed it. The two are seemingly interchangeable for now, but religious Jews are eventually going to come up against the GSL, as both Christians and Muslims have. Where would Axelrod side? Where would Emanuel? They're both shameless Machiavellians and careerists, as their willingness to lay down with AIPAC demonstrates. I think they'd throw genuinely religious Jews under the bus in a second if it would advance their power and careers. I’m not arguing on behalf of Zionism, here. No need. Just honor International law we have subscribed to; honor our own laws allowing military supply to other countries only for real self-defense; cut off the outrageous foreign aid to Israel or at least place some conditions on it as we do with every other country–and monitor that by requiring our own verification; ditto regarding NGO status conditions and their violations. In short, if the US POTUS and government simply lived up to the USA's ethical laws now in place–the settlements would be gone in short order. That's the shame of it for responsible American citizens.
