IP is a dangerous issue because it has the potential to break party unity. You will note that they do not have proIsraeli posts either.They are generally progressive because that is where electoral majorities can be built today, especially via the internet. However, they judge that the damage to electoral prospects for Democrats is just too great to allow the IP debate inside the doors. There are many here especially Phil and Adam who are trying to break down the barrier to having an open discussion of the IP in American politics. I believe an early indicator that they are succeeding will be seen if Dailykos becomes open to this debate. Do not blame Kos, they are doing exactly what they claim to be doing. Instead of them moderating the rude comments that arose, they banned her instead! And Jane is pretty well known as a blogger too. IF they would do this to her so quickly after her just posting a couple of times, you can imagine what they do to the rest of us without much of a name... But can not say that I am surprised. A few years ago I was banned by a moderator (RBG) over at FDL for bringing up the I/P conflict, and settlements when it was appropriate when countries in the middle east were being discussed. There was no inappropriate language or comments but I would not back down. I claimed that the main bloggers at Firedoglake would not touch this issue (oh they have dipped their toes in) but will generally not go there. Empty wheel did not ban me from her blog as well as the other threads at Firedoglake. I am now able to make comments on Jane Hamsher's threads and Christy's. Firedoglake has opened up much much more on this issue because of Oxdown now Seminal where participants can put up there own blogs. But the big hitters at Firedoglake generally do not touch these topics...generally We should not kid ourselves that some of the moderators and some bloggers have agendas and real blocks when it comes to this issue. If the I lobby has their ways blog will be closed down to this debate as the MSM did over the last 50 years .
