Hebron Fund begins charm offensive by calling Obama policy racist

The Hebron Fund is beginning to fight back against the growing campaign to cancel its fundraiser this Saturday at Citi Field. Instead of trying a conciliatory approach, Hebron Fund Executive Director Yossi Baumol has come out swinging. From a Hebron Fund press release:

“Just as Jews can live anywhere they want in New York, Paris or elsewhere, so too can Jews live anywhere they want in the so-called “West Bank.” We have as our slogan “Let My People Grow!” in protest of racist limitations, led by President Barack Obama on Jewish growth in Hebron and throughout Judea & Samaria. We are committed to continuing to have Jews live everywhere they want,” said Yossi Baumol, Executive Director of The Hebron Fund.

The release was sent out by Ronn Torossian and his p.r. firm 5W Public Relations. We’ve profiled Torossian before when he scored the Birthright Israel advertising account this past September. In case you need a refresher, Torossian once told Jeffrey Goldberg, "I think we should kill a hundred Arabs or a thousand Arabs for every one Jew they kill." The Hebron Fund joins the illustrious list of 5WPR clients which, in addition to Birthright Israel, includes the video series Girls Gone Wild and the organization Christians United for Israel.

JEWISH SETTLERS TO HOLD EVENT AT SHEA STADIUM THIS SATURDAY

HEBRON FUND TO CELEBRATE THE JEWISH RIGHT TO LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE LAND OF ISRAEL –

NEW YORK, NY, November 19, 2009 – The Hebron Fund announced today their annual fundraiser will go on as planned on Saturday night Nov. 21 to celebrate the right of Jews to live in Hebron.  The Hebron Fund is committed to assisting the Jewish residents of Hebron with their humanitarian and civil needs.

“Just as Jews can live anywhere they want in New York , Paris or elsewhere, so too can Jews live anywhere they want in the so-called “ West Bank .”  We have as our slogan “Let My People Grow!” in protest of racist limitations, led by President Barack Obama on Jewish growth in Hebron and throughout Judea & Samaria. We are committed to continuing to have Jews live everywhere they want,” said Yossi Baumol, Executive Director of The Hebron Fund.

The event is progressing despite a letter of protest sent by anarchist and extreme left wing activists. The NY Mets organization will be honoring their commitment to rent the Caesar’s Club in Citi Field to the Hebron Fund, which will be holding their annual fundraiser.

A NYC extremist organization, Adalah (http://adalahny.org/) has called on Shea Stadium to cancel the event.
