I’ll say one thing for these posts of Phil’s concerning his intermarriage and family. He fearlessy and courageously plumbs the surface of assimilated Jewish life in America.
As if it was all about filching mustard packets, sugar packets, Nutra-sweet packets, relish packets, individual cream-cheese serving packets, Hershey’s Kisses, after-dinner mints… hmmm, I think maybe I’ve said a little too much here. I gotta go.

If you believe that some form of Zionism (as a state, I assume you meant) could also be democratic, then your criticism is NOT of Zionism (an ideology), but of the application of it.

In a word, you would accept a humane Zionism, just not an expansionistic one.

If you really read my posts, and if I summarized your views accurately, then we agree.

Citizen, after I got married, for some reason my Father-in-law could never rid himself of the expression “Jew him down”. Which is pretty funny, because my wife swears he never used it before she married me! But this isn’t about buying a used car, or a collection of discredited bargain ideologies, for that matter. This is more important! This is about families, and food. And as my FIL may told me many times, he only bought “National Hebrew” franks. Then he would wink and say “You know, the kind with the tips cut off”
I never could convince him it was actually “Hebrew National” He thought that was an Israeli soccer team.
What can you do?

Citizen, I never in a million years thought you would be the one to answer that question! For God’s sake, don’t ruin your mind (it’s such a fine mind) with awful Jewish pornography, which it is just a part of their Bolshevik, what’s-yours-is-ours, mongrelise the culture plot. For God’s sake, Citizen stay out the whorehouse where the japes of Roth are stored! (Oh, Lord, I just kill me, sometimes! “The japes of Roth”, get it?)

I suggest Bennett’s “Book of Virtues” or “The Lives of the Saints” depending on what kind season those payets are having this year.

Mildly entertaining, Mooser–I can see the scene in a teen flick. But I don’t get your joke about how the Gentiles would react to Jewish filial self-sacrifice. Why on earth do you think they would they have a reaction deep down in their guts?
