Dana and Blumenthal to speak in NY next week about resistance to the occupation

An exciting event. Two high flying journalists, Max Blumenthal, who is just back from Israel where he chronicled the growing intolerance in the country’s political culture, and Joseph Dana, who has fearlessly documented the nonviolent demonstrations in the Occupied Territories turned ugly by state violence, will join up in New York next week to talk about the Israeli radical left and the Palestinian popular struggle and other developments. The event is free, but they will be raising money to support the work of Anarchists Against the Wall by selling t-shirts and taking additional donations. The press release:

In towns from Bil’in to Budrus, Palestinians have risen up in unarmed protest against the Israeli apartheid wall, fighting without offensive weapons and taking heavy casualties to regain their farmland and rightfully owned property. Blumenthal and Dana will describe the Palestinian anti-wall struggle in the West Bank, including the role of Israeli and international activists, and will discuss other issues such as this summer’s Freedom Flotilla crisis and Israel’s domestic anti-democratic laws which target Palestinian citizens of Israel.

Time and date and sponsors:

Tuesday, October 19 · 7:00pm – 9:30pm, Room 102, 19 University Place, New York, NY. NYU Students For Justice In Palestine.
