Hasbara fount concedes that well is running dry on idea of ‘Jewish sovereignty’

Daniel Gordis, an Israel promoter in Jerusalem whom I knew as a kid, is usually blindered on the issue. But here he concedes that attitudes are changing in the Jewish community, and the kids watch Munich, not Exodus. We used to believe that the Jewish future depended on "Jewish sovereignty," he says, and the kids still do. But the world doesn’t. True re the world. And the kids don’t either, actually. That is the quiet revolution happening now inside Jewish life.

    Phil,

you need to read the entire article.

Our kids, and most of their close friends, still believe those things.

I know it was toward the end, but your audience deserves better….

Well, if the new Jewish kids do not believe anymore on the ‘Jewish Sovereignty’; then that makes things easier for the world to resolve the Palestinian Problem… What are you waiting for ? Hurry! You Jews must pack up thing now and leave Palestine!

What are you Jews doing in that new building over a land that you think not your own? Move out, and the Arabs have to move in! Youre losing our precious time!

  2. Gordis seems to be talking about Israeli kids. It could be argued that his kids are not representative of Israeli kids in general, but I don’t know.

Gordis describes a failed dream but still clings to it.

He also, oddly, seems to be seeing the historical events though the lens of the movie’s propaganda.

Maybe what is needed is an Exodus for today, a story of refugees and desperation, that will make Israelis think more about where they are than where their grandparents wanted to be.

There seems to be a thread of desperation in Phil’s posts. He sold his soul and like any religious convert thinks only his cult see things clearly. Everyone else is “blindered”.
