(I get my jive) on I-95

My wife and I were driving on I-95 in Rhode Island and listening to public radio. My wife said, "Why do I like Kai Ryssdal?"

I said, "I don’t know, because he’s not a Zionist?"

"That’s not why," my wife said.

Later we were listening to an interview of Yael Hersonski, an Israeli who has made a documentary called "A Film Unfinished," based on anti-Semitic propaganda footage taken by the Nazis in the Warsaw ghetto. It was the second interview of Hersonski I’d heard on public radio that day. In the first one, the interviewer failed to even mention that she’s Israeli. In the second interview, the NPR host asked Hersonski what was her intent in making the film.

I said, "Zionist propaganda purposes."

"I don’t like that! Stop that!" my wife said. She was sore for a while. She said, "I don’t just want to hear your story. I want to hear other people’s stories."
