Rice’s Christian apostasy is good news (what about Jews struggling against Zionism?)

Author Anne Rice has publicly quit the Christian community. Per her facebook announcement: "I refuse to be anti-gay. I refuse to be anti-feminist. I refuse to be anti-artificial birth control. I refuse to be anti-Democrat. I refuse to be anti-secular humanism. I refuse to be anti-science. I refuse to be anti-life."

Yesterday NPR, which some call No Palestinians Radio, did an interview with Rice and respectfully chronicled the many turns in this woman’s spiritual path.

I was listening to her in the car, when my wife declared, "I’m out." Meaning she has little connection to the church she was raised in.

I wonder when NPR will talk about Jewish apostasy in the face of the destruction of Palestinian human rights? And I’m not talking about Peter Beinart’s mainstream breaks, I am talking about people like Mark Ellis, Judaism does not equal Israel, or Joel Kovel, Overcoming Zionism, or Lillian Rosengarten who will be on the Jewish boat to Gaza. When will it give space to the spiritual convulsions among young Jews faced by unending occupation and Jim Crow conditions and destruction of Palestinian children?
