‘Rachel’ doc’y to launch in NY in October

We’ve just learned that “Rachel,” Simone Bitton’s documentary about the killing of Rachel Corrie in Gaza in 2003, will have its official launch for distribution in the U.S. in New York in ten days. And how things go in New York will impact further U.S. distribution. From the release:

Simone Bitton, who is a citizen of both France and Israel, says:

“My investigation into the death of this unknown young girl was done with the rigor and scope normally reserved for first-rate historical characters. I gathered precise testimonies, written documents, still photos and video footage relative to Rachel’s killing, and all these elements are interwoven in the film with no narration. RACHEL is transcending its subject, allowing the viewer to meditate and mourn about youth , idealism and commitment, about power and opression, about truth and lies . Not only in Palestine, but anywhere on earth.”
