Mondo Awards submissions, the second day

What’s happening on this site today? It’s the end of the year. On December 18, Annie announced an end-of-year Mondo Awards contest for essays and people that inspire. The response has been staggering. Yesterday we began rolling out the essays, 1, 2, 3, 4; we will try and finish them up by tonight, though it’s a little like the Chilean miners, we can’t say when we’ll be done. Each entry is numbered and we invite your comments. Our supreme court of judges will be studying the entries in days to come and rendering their judgment on the most impressive. We want to thank every one of you who entered the awards, even the flood of late entries. For those of you whose entry didn’t make it on to the site, you’re in very good company, ultimately we decided we had to stop somewhere. Please feel free to post your thoughts and nominations and haiku’s and anything else you share in the comment section, or resubmit as a post in the new year.
