Heresy in the Wall Street Journal; Aciman says Palestinians need a country

My father came to visit last night with several publications, including Tuesday’s Wall Street Journal. On the Op-Ed page I discovered Egyptian-American Andre Aciman, right under John Bolton and Charles Koch. From his piece

One of the jokes circulating during the first outbursts of protest in Egypt came from Israel: “Dear Egyptian rioters, please don’t damaged the pyramids. We will not rebuild. Thank you.”
He then says the historical accuracy is debatable. He also notes that Israel is justifiably worried about developments in Egypt. But then he moves on to the following:

[Israel] should seize the moment and show that it can bring about changes as momentous as those witnessed elsewhere in the region today.
That means striking an honorable deal with the Palestinians, vacating areas whose occupation is unjustifiable and allowing the Palestinians to have a country with a capital Israel learns to share.  Israel must show its Arab neighbors that it can up the ante on their revolution and produce the long-awaited miracle of peace in the Middle East.
The “areas whose occupation is unjustifiable” is weak, but the paragraph as a whole is about as “radical” as the WSJ gets.
