Brooklyn Republican’s supporters — including Daily News — want to send Obama an Israel message

on 3 Comments

The Daily News has endorsed Bob Turner in Brooklyn over David Weprin allegedly because Weprin is “clueless” about the national debt. I believe the real motivation for the move by the Mort Zuckerman newspaper, which traditionally supports Democrats not Republicans, is Israel. Note these lines from the editorial, which are offered without demurral.

The race has focused also on matters of particular interest to the district’s Jewish residents, including a substantial Orthodox population.

Ed Koch finds Turner a kindred spirit in criticizing Obama’s policies toward the Jewish state. Koch is calling on voters to elect Turner to send a message of repudiation to the White House.

Note that Turner worked the same message theme in a debate on Tuesday, per the Times:

“A Democratic loss here will scare the Democratic Party and its policy makers to an extent that they will be pushed further back to Israeli-friendliness and economic sanity,” Mr. Turner said, referring to two major themes of the campaign.

No mystery to these jaded eyes.

The merest mention of former Gotham Chief Executive Ed “Crazy Eddie” koch is all you need to know that the interests and the proper care and feeding of Zionism and Israel First and Lidukism and The Gush are foremost in word and deed, though not openly or honestly mentioned.
