In his speech to Congress back in May and in his recent speech at the U.N., Netanyahu spoke of himself as representing Jews all over the world. His U.N. tripe– sorry, trope: “On behalf of Israel and the Jewish people… I speak for a hundred generations of Jews who were dispersed.”
Today he shows us what that means in yet another grandiloquent gesture.
It’s from the LA Times (link below). Israeli Dan Schechtman won the Nobel Prize in chemistry Wednesday for research he conducted in the U.S. back in 1982.
Shechtman studied and still teaches at Haifa’s Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. He also works at Iowa State University and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Ames Laboratory on the Iowa State campus.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Shechtman to offer congratulations “on behalf of the citizens of Israel, for your award, which expresses the intellect of our people. Every Israeli is happy today and every Jew in the world is proud.”

I thought Schectman discovered the properties of pseudocrystals at Iowa State before returning to the Technion. Doesn’t that make it a product of U.S. research?
I seem to remember the title “King of the Jews” was once applied to someone else. He came to a bad end.
