Ordinary citizens, making a difference

Here’s a great little video from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Although a little aged it is not outdated in the least and I never saw it until today. More important, I believe more of this kind of citizen action is needed today all across our country. Check out the personal voices and the clear, homegrown simple nature of this action. The video gives us an opportunity to see these are just ordinary people like you and me with ordinary faces and ordinary voices making an exceptional difference in our world. This is all it takes and we are growing.

We covered these billboards before– Man who says he is former AIPAC member puts up billboards decrying Gaza as monstrous inhumanity. And here: Billboards criticizing US aid to Israel taken down under pressure. And then again here: Billboards criticizing US aid to Israel return to Albuquerque.

Then in March 2011 the group Coalition to Stop 30 Billion to Israel put up another design I’m sure you are all familiar with–  Two Peoples One Future.

Be On Our Side

Their campaign inspired citizen action in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Portland, Wahington DC, Boston, Arizona and Seattle.

The video was produced by Susan Schuurman and Shot on a DVX100 with a handheld mic and edited on Final cut Pro.

This video shows the panic that the Boycott-Israel moving is causing. It also shows the extremely strong ties that Israel had with Apartheid South Africa.

I saw something on the net about android apps and one looked particularly interesting

Red Laser – can scan a barcode and find you the cheapest online price.

For years I have dreamt of a device that would read barcodes of Israeli products and give the reasons to boycott them. Is there anyone out there who could do a Red Laser job for BDS?

Has any pro Palestinian group thought of this method of advertisement, driving around New York or Washington. Hope I don’t go on Obama’s death panel list for suggesting this.
